iPhone 4 look-a-like device on "Todayz Deals" - comments?

Hi all,

Just noticed this: http://www.todayzdeals.com.au/sydney/
Called a i68 4G, but obviously a mimic of a iPhone 4G.

Anyone got any comment on this? I mean price-wise it seems to be quite decent, at $79 (probably a bit extra for shipping), but usability? I'm guessing this is one of those China-made mimics, but has anyone actually used them? I've always been very curious about how good they are to use, whether they're worth the money, and how they all have dual-sim functionality too.

  • a friend got one of these at the market buy it only had about 1GB worth of storage, not 8GB.
i think u can't use ipod stuff on it, but not sure.
dont know what OS it has.

but phonewise duel sim is always good!

  • You can get it for about $65 off Ebay and other China sites (like below). You get what you pay for so buyer beware!!

  • +1

My friend has one of them, dont bother with them. You spend money to invite more troubles

  • It would be interesting to hear what the actual problems are.

  • IMO, your phone is like your harddrive, if not more important. If it crashes or shit happens…you lose more than just the phone. I know you can store phone numbers on your sim card…but everything else? Just not worth it when it comes to a phone i dont think :)

  • It's a GSM phone (no 3G data), runs on proprietary OS which is likely to be unstable, most likely comes with crappy camera despite what they claim, and the built-in web browser probably couldn't render most of the websites you visit. I've bought one of these ala cheapo/copied phones before, and it was actually one of the most wasted $100++ I've spent on a phone.

    14-30 Days delivery

Most likely drop shipped from China using regular/registered post. If you're really intending to buy the phone anyway, then I'd suggest that you cut off the middle man and get it directly from China for a cheaper price and EMS delivery.

  • You might as well get a Telstra Bubbletouch or Huawei IDEOS prepaid mobile phone for a little extra which is actually 3g and runs Android…

This video shows one of these fake iphones in action. As you can see they run pretty rudimentary firmware, the user interface is laggy and ugly, and runs something similar to that of a dated Series 40 operating system.
