Technically, you have to first be invited to complete a survey, for which you are then rewarded with a coupon code to redeem any eBook for free. However, the code is generic and reusable. You will need to sign up for a free account if you don't already have one. I first opened mine a few years ago and never been bothered by any kind of spam.

and reusable
not on the same account
if you have a gmail account, you can just add a +1 before the @gmail.com to create a new account yet reused the same email on google.
Or dots anywhere in username ;)
So you mean something like privatesugar+1@gmail, privatesugar+2@gmail etc
Yep. Anything after the "+" is ignored by gmail
Confirms works. You get to download in EPUB, MOBI or PDF. This is a good way of trialling this, because I would actually purchase a guide to a location going forward, and I find through past experience that Rough Guides are usually less vanilla than Lonely Planet guides.
Agreed. They are more insightful and anecdotal than LP guides, which are now a bit outdated with their listings of hotels, restaurants, museums, etc which people can access more easily through the Internet anyway. Like you, I prefer to have a print copy with me when I travel.
Ah, silly question. How do I sign up an account? I don't see a create account button, when I click My Account it only gives me an option to login via Facebook or a email/password. But not the option to create a new account?
If you fill in all the billing details (including email and password) during check out, the system will automatically create an account for you.
Great, thank you.
Thanks OP Great Find ………. Downloaded a 512 page book on Vietnam in PDF format - Look pretty good.
Doesn’t seem to let me download the book I “purchased”. Anyone else having problems
just what i needed, thanks!
fyi you can also download in pdf AND epub AND mobi if you want multiple formatsgreat deal!
Mobi is not appearing for me, even after waiting 5, 10, … 120 minutes.
Hmm which book to read? I chose Chile.
Edit: Bah. EPUB not PDF. I prefer PDF every time.
Confirmed code works without doing survey.
Thanks obenihk! :-)
