Posting it here rather than as a bargain as it's not even close to being current, but if someone is thinking of buying in the next week or so, they may hold off for this if it's cheaper.

    "Max transfer rate: 5GB/sec"
    "The maximum speed of USB 3.0 is 4.8Gbps"

    4.8Gbps = 0.6 GB/sec

    They weren't even close!

      yeah guess they mistook GigaByte for Gigabit.
      Still good deal if you know what HD is inside and if has SATA -> USB or straight USB connector inside!

      Here is the easy way of working it out… if they don't mention 2.5", then it's a 3.5".

      Same with USB 3.0… if they don't mention it's USB 3.0, then it's only USB 2.0

    The latest drives are coming down in price. I just bought a 2TB USB3.0 WD My Book for 110AUD equivalent here (HK). So if you miss this Aldi deal, just hang on and there will be other deals appearing soon.
