So I signed up for a new 24 month postpaid plan with optus. They handed me the phone and the new sim and like an idiot I didnt realise I had to activate the sim.
I am just wondering what happens if I never activate the sim? From what I understand they don't start billing you till its active
My friend who has previously worked at optus said that its unlikely.
He said hes never had a situation where a customer was sent home without the sim being activated in store
Do you actually have an account with Optus ATM? Is the phone issued to you on their system?
I used to be with optus so I do have an account. However in that account there are no active plans or anything showing. Only says no active services
All they have in their account is a pending port that has been completed but awaiting activation
They'll start billing you for the phone and the plan. They won't give a shit if the sim is active or not.
yeah nah, sim will activates itself just like you bought online by delivery after porting done
Better to have a chat with support on optus website
What did OPTUS tell you when you spoke to them about this?
They'll automatically activate it after a while
