Homebrand Food Still Worth It ?

I notice some inflation on supermarket homebrand products which makes the difference not much from other brands.

Coles High Top bread = $2.50 -> $2.80

Coles 24pk 500g cheese slices = $3.50 -> $3.70

Coles UHT milk = 90c -> $1

Would you stick to homebrand for small price differences or go for devondale/helgas ?

inb4, shop at aldi. (nearest store nowhere closeby)

    Small price differences + a number of purchases = bigger difference than you might think.

    Shopping Homebrand might still mean a hundred or more bucks extra in the bank at the end of the year.

    I have found majority of home brand alternatives have been very good quality, anyway. So, my answer would be yes

    Depends on the product. Also you should always calculate the price difference by percentages.

    Depends on a product test. If there honestly isn't much of a difference (this is especially the case on raw products like flour, sugar, milk, etc…) and you have a cheaper alternative (no matter whether the price spread is small or large) why would you bother with the more expensive product?

          when you positively absolutely have to emit the most luminous blue flame, spare no expense

      Get homebred for most things but can not eat anything but Heinz Beans.
      Get the 550g tin when on special for about $1.50-$1.75 in massive bulk….

    Depends on the product. (And yes, I actually prefer Aldi homebrand bread at $1+, lol..)

  • Varies a lot imho…home brand coles chocolate is pretty bad for example.

    Try a certain item once. If you don’t like it, then swap to branded
