See, this is why I need a printer. Needing to drive to Mums to print it really stops it from being a bargain. :(

    • +7

you think that's bad? I'm in NSW - I'd have to drive to Queensland to get this one…

      • +1

        You win…

And whenever someone says 'you think that's bad?', why do I hear it in a South Park Peter Griffin voice?

        • +14

South Park Peter Griffin? Isn't Homer on that show?

      • Indeed. There was a Clive Peeters within walking distance of my house. Now, the closest one is 680km away (Gold Coast)

        • +2

No, Clive Peeters is from American Dad.

  • Taking this to the Richmond store on Bridge Rd at lunchtime :)

  • Nice

  • +2

Yes, at last…that should be the every day price these days.

  • +2

    Will Officeworks price match ???

    • They -should- do, but it's probably well under cost price

  • Re:JV

No, because they need to be identical products, and this coupon doesn't say which product/brand it is.

    • +2

someone buy from Clive Peeters and Upload receipt

      Problem Solved

      • Assuming Officeworks stocks the same brand. I have a feeling this will be a non-branded USB stick, or otherwise it would of been advertised on the coupon.

        • +5

I feel sorry for Officeworks. They get a hammering from all the ozbargainers

  • +6

Ok, went to the Richmond(Vic) Bridge Rd store, they had a basket full of them.

    '4Gb Lexar Jumpdrive Firefly'

    • Same as what I got from the Mt Gravatt store (Brisbane). There were baskets full of other 4GB drives by Toshiba, a few Verbatim ones and some other brand I can't remember. When I took my selection to the counter to pay the cashier said only the Lexars were available with the voucher. Also they had to get a salesperson to write up some presales thing before they would take my money.

    • Coolios, I might get one this weekend.

  • Nice, have one just down the road from my place. Will pick up 2 I think.

  • +2

Laughed when I saw this come out of the printer at my workplace.

    • +2

      Ummmmm…. I printed it during my coffee break…. :S

  • write: 16.9mb/s
    read: 4.2mb/s

So pretty damn slow, but you can't expect much for $3

    • +3

      Write is faster than read?

      • +1

yeah my bad other way round

        • +1

          Jesus forgives you

  • Picked up 2 from Clive Peeters in Pascoe Vale (VIC).

    • Let's see some receipts!!! We want to OW pricematch.

  • I clearly remember paying $50 for a 4GB drive a few years ago, and rubbing my hands together in glee at how much of a bargain I got cryz

    • +3

LOL, at least you didn't pay 129 bucks for a 512mb Sony, yes 512MB USB in 2007.

      • -6

        ROFL, u dumbass

      • Try 200 something for a 512mb Transcend, which blew up twice when plugged into dodgy front usb ports.

        • +1

but would have saved so much on buying re-writable cd's hahaha

  • +2

I remember buying a 256mb mp3 player for $50! This was in 2006. imagine how many of these 4gb drives I can buy for that amount of money now? i got ripped off

    • +2

I remember buying 10x single density 720KB 3.5" diskette for $20 in 1991, and used hole puncher to fake it as high density so I can format them as 1.44MB diskettes. Imaging how many of these 4gb drives… Anyway. Technology gets cheaper. If OzBargain is still around in 5 years, we'll be looking back all the silly comments we made here :)

      • +1

Fast forward to 2016…OzBargain still around, definitely, and I post another bargain…..2TB usb for $3! Tee hee hee…beam me up Scotty! LOL!

      • exactly..even the extent of hard drives is a deafening roar to our past that no good deal now will still remain a good deal 2-3 years later.

I remember buying a huge 200Gb external hard drive in 2005 for about $400 and was so excited at all the movies, pictures and music I could store.

I was literally on top of a rainbow and thought I could never run out of storage ever. (yes I know I used literally wrong for more on this check out http://theoatmeal.com/comics/literally

Come 2011 and 1 Tb seems like meh to me.

  • thanks! picked up 2. both toshiba.

  • I bought 2 of these and while I was there a guy actually said can I pay $ 6 and get one of these 8 gig USB sticks instead..
He was so serious, they tried to explain that it was to get people's names on there computer system and heads in the door and clear old stock, but he still said but can I get it for $ 6 thou..
People were laughing at him as he could not get it…
So fun times working at Clive Peter's.

    Great deal !!!!

  • Just got 2 for myself and 2 for the missus at the one near Department of Transport near Garden City. They have Toshiba, Verbatam and Lexar, all 4G ones. But they were only willing to sell the Lexar Jumpdrives.

  • Thanks OP, got two from Moorabin.
They said take any ones so I grabbed the Toshibas.
Heaps left if any one else needs some.
