I've been helping my in-laws pay for some stuff when they visit here (flights and accommodation) and soon will be helping pay for my sister-in-law who is coming over from Malaysia to study at a uni here. Her uni fees are quite expensive so just trying to help them out as much as possible as the amount of MYR to AUD is quite significant.
I've looked into Transferwise but they don't do MYR yet.
If anyone has suggestions, I'd be happy to hear some :) Thanks in advance!
if its a big amount just use bank TT. Maybank rates are usually quite good.

Perhaps some local Ozbargain users travelling through KL want to buy some currency?
I would consider it if I was going to Malaysia and lived in Brisbane - especially if you offered competitive exchange rates.

Your best option is Money changers and banks in Malaysia. MYR is not officially tradeable overseas. As such, conversion rate outside of Malaysia is really bad.
