I will probably get a bunch of hate for this but thought i would see what you guys think.

Get the iPhone XS Max 512GB with unlimited date $199pm for 24 months
Take 25% off for Telstra staff - If you have a family member that is Telstra staff you can add a separate billing account which you pay directly.
24 Month Cost - $3,582
Sell iPhone - $1,500
New plan cost over 24 Months - $86.75
Fixed line internet cost - $60
Final additional per month cost - $26.75

In 2 years figure something else out…

      Unless you're a staff member, or are on a staff members account, you cannot apply for this. There's a Telstra Alumni discount of 10% off but you previously have had to work for Telstra

        Damn, I never knew this was a thing. I worked for Telstra years ago for a few months and looks like that was good enough; I was able to apply for the Alumni discount successfully. Thanks for posting this info!

          Lucky I kept all my old training certs, they couldn't find me using just my AGS even after being employed by them for 18 years … lol

          But now got the discount and passed on the Alumni site to some ex-Telstra friends.

            @4wd: Lol, weird. I was only there in 2009 for like 4 months (if that), I remember having a Delta number but can't for the life of me remember what it actually was.. lol. Never heard of an AGS until last night, but they found that for me without me providing anything other than basic info.

            The only hiccup I had was not passing the auto validation, but got an update last night from a support rep saying they were able to find my Telstra details and gave me my AGS to apply for the discount. Happy days.

        I am not sure whether it is locked or not. As for bloatware, you are misinformed. Maybe you were thinking of Android offerings? 5G? What about 6G?

        I was not making a for or against case about the price, but rather that it is a significant discount to the RRP.

    It seems like it's just replacing fixed line internet.

    Makes sense to me if you have ADSL but not if you have good fixed line service HFC or FTTP or possibly Turdbull's solution to enrich Telstra as much as possible at your expense - $98 billion copper VDSL or whatever that stupid arrangement is called.
