Is it just me or this game is so complicated? Menu system, upgrading weapons, collecting items, battle system.

Played two quests and they are just grinding missions, kill x many monsters.

Not fun. Am I missing something? Disclaimer only put in under an hour of game play.

It certainly felt a bit hard to master the control and fighting combos initially but definitely after a few more hours I got to love the game for its beautiful world and its creatures which after some time you get this Increasing desire to Hunt or capture the beasts you encounter to salvage its parts for armour and weapon crafting.

It also becomes a bit of adventure at your own pace and sometimes you get a bit of a surprise when you see the wildlife and beasts interacting with each other… and by that I mean fight each other for their territory, where you can almost sit back and enjoy the amazing fight show!

I was playing on PC for about 2 months straight when it first came out but took a break from it since Overwatch came out with a new hero lol.

Definitely considering the XBOX version too as I do like using the controller for this game more than the mouse and keyboard, which is rare for me. It’s a game you can definitely sit back at a lounge and play at your casual pace and just enjoy the scenes and hunts

      • Why not hook your Xbox controller to pc to use?

        • Yeah I did, but like I mentioned it would’ve been nicer I feel to be at the Lounge on a bean bag and playing this lol.

Ah I just remembered I bought a Nvidia Shield TV for its streaming apps. I’m sure I can try make this work for with its steamlink capabilities!

    • As a Monster Hunter veteran (1000+ hours across a few games)

You'll find that the game is sometimes a bit of a chore. Once you're done with the first few grindy missions you'll then get to face a proper monster.

Usually a Great Jaggi or something. Not sure about MHW. After that other monsters will appear in the quest list. But they'll probably start beating you to a pulp. How do you fix this? Get some Great Jaggi armour. Farm that dinosaur 4-5 times to get all the materials to get better Armour and you're ready for the next monster.

Basically repeat that last paragraph every 3-4 monsters, or guild rank, and that's the game. The fun part is killing a hard monster. The frustrating part is figuring out how to do it again 4-5 times to get that weapon/armour you want.

For me the game is best with friends. If you can round up even 1 other person to go and strategize with traps and bombs to kill something it's funner.

Target has it for the same price

  • Typical. Bought it yesterday as a gift for $59 at jbhifi.

    • Go bavk explain that you found out recipient already has it, at minimum you should get gift card. Then pm 😂

    • Return and rebuy at this price.

Or if you no longer have the game, "buy" then "return" with the more expensive receipt. :-)
