That went down fast? Is this game any good? The last Assassins Creed game that I finished was no.3 and played half way through 4. I played Origins for about 30 minutes or so and couldn't be bothered. This one is probably similar to Origin?

I played it and I thought it was pretty good! The map/world is pretty darn big and it makes you explore Greece…There are tons of side quests, weapon customization to some extend, and loot whore. Lastly, my tip of the day if you plan to play…pick the girl not the guy, if you don't want to keep seeing his underwear…

      • +1

Do I get to see her underwear?

        • Yes - White bogcatchers.

When you dive down in the water areas, you get full view.

If you have the attitude of 'can't be bothered'; you won't like this one. It's a monster in terms of scale. For $39, there is around 100 hours of content, give or take depending on your play style.

I loved it compared to Origins which I didn't like (but that might boil down to the fact I'm not interested in Egypt). YMMV.

      • +3

        I really like origins

        • +1

70 hours and still only about 65% complete in origins. So much to do. Exploring Egypt is Awesome.

I've played as both protagonists! Looks like this will be the first time I'm paying for DLCs! Malaka!

    • +1

I bought this at the same time as Red Dead 2 and have spent 80% of my gaming time on this. The story isn't as good as RDR, the characters aren't as engaging, but IMO it's way more fun.

This is coming from someone who never got more than two hours into a previous AC game.

I just wish they gave option of digital version, prefer not having to deal with discs.

Be sure to support JB HI-FI if you can; we want to keep this competition up and give business to those that are most competitive.

    • I agree with you ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

    • +8

Jb can get stuffed. Hate all their excuses about price matching competitors so much that I've just given my business to bigw for games and I get a 10% staff discount.

    • +6

Pretty sure JB is doing just fine :)

    • The $10 digital receipt still valid?

      • Yep, applied mine online and got it for 29

    • They have ridiculous prices on tech now. I wanted to get a soundbar and two stores said $700 was the best price, when even HN weโ€™re doing them for $500.

    • +1

jb these days are a joke - they don't price match anymore, and are very different from what they were before joining with the gooeey guys who were always a bit dodgy.

The difference between the three of them including harveys is minimal these days.

      • Seems to be up to management, my local has price matched the Big W that's a half hour away from there a couple times the last two weeks.

        • 3 STORES WONT PRICE MATCH EB SALES ANYMORE

  • +2

How come there is no PC version on sale…can i price match PS4 and XBOX for PC?…

    • I doubt it sadly and agree, it is frustrating. It would be a UPlay code though, whether or not that bothers you.

  • Technically cheaper at JB with the 5% off today.

Excellent game. Well worth the $39!

    Pros
    - Solid gameplay mechanics (Effective transition between CQC, range and stealth tactics)
    - Skill tree and on-the fly changes to skill config makes the game quite unique given you may want to change up your skills as your interests change
    - Weapon types and armour types are HUGELY diverse making for some really fun
    - If you like an early game weapon or armour (i.e. family sword or farmers pike), you can upgrade it along the way to be OP
    - Building the ship and naval warfare a big improvement
    - Quirky greek mythology missions
    - Good quality DLC on the way
    - Massive world, great core story and post-game quests are surprisingly rewarding and lock you in
    - Excellent graphics on a 65 inch HDR (even without a 'pro' badged console)

    Cons
    - Climactic epilogue tutorial transitions into a flat first two hours of low-level quests (First 10 Kefalonia mission aren't that exciting)
    - The main character can make decisisons incongruent wit hthe narrative or her stage of character development (Only an issue if you're a game narrative snob!)
    - Greek speakers will find the use of greek at times to be too limited (against total opportunity available) or even superfluous

    Tip - Play as Cassandra

Source - Dude who played in and out of his missus's 40-60 hour Platinum trophy playthrough of Cassandra (PS4)

      Malaka!

      • Lol. You've clearly played the game :'D

You see people, this is why you DON'T pre-order your games!

    • +1

I paid about $44 (After cashrewards) for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 Pre Order. You find me a similar price since release…

      • Wha, really?
I guess that's the exception and not the norm. I don't see why millions of people worldwide are pre-ordering games at full price (AU$99) to get a new coloured gun and outfit. Even the Collector Edition's are crap these days, just see Fallout 76.

I pre-ordered only two times, second time as a present for family (justifiable). The first time was for CoD:BO2 which was actually cheaper (~$200 irrc) and had a decent case and came with a drone (which was all the buzz at the time, but were pricey at around $150 at the time).

There are so many games that are not as good as they should be. And very annoying glitches and bugs, and huge downloads for Day 1 Updates and Week 1 updates. It's just not worth it. I always wait until those $99 games come down to $49 or cheaper, and even then I usually avoid the overhyped/underdelivered titles so there's more savings. I don't play online-multiplayer (not since BO2), so there's no reason for me to get on the bandwagon that quick.

  • My local JB don't match Amazon prime prices. :(
