[NSW] Amiro (Xiaomi) LED Vanity Mirror 20CM - $99.99 @ Costco, Crossroads (Membership Required)

170

Saw this at Costco today and remembered seeing this on Ozbargain, looked it up tonight and noticed this is actually cheap.
I don't use makeup or have need for this, or know too much else about it, but figured might be useful to others. Noticed it only cause was going to purchase as a gift.

Is this the model with the battery or not, I don't know.

The Xiaomi part comes from a series of funding they received by an investment firm that was co-founded by one of the Xiaomi founders. So not a Xiaomi ecosystem product as such but still a Xiaomi product.

  • +3

amiro is not a part of xiaomi and has no relationship with xiaomi as well.

Some bad seller promote it as xiaomi products.

    • This Amiro product is not a xiao-mi product
but Amiro products have been using crowd funding platform from Xiao Mi

Another Amiro product that has succeed reaching the funding target in Xiao Mi Crowd Funding
      https://youpin.mi.com/detail?gid=101753

Basically, what Xiao Mi does now is creating Crowd Funding platform for any one (eg. start up companies) to apply
something similar to indegogo and kickstarter

However, Indegogo and Kickstarter will only do crowding funding and ends after target reach /due date
while Xiao Mi will look into any potentials and try to invest further / acquire the whole brand into their "Xiao Mi Eco System"
This makes Xiao Mi products become so wide in variety
eg. Xiao Yi (action cam / IP cam), Yee light (smart light), VioMi (water filter), Amazfit (smart watch), Mi Jia (home goods) ….most of these Xiao Mi products were started as crowd funding projects..

Rather than call it crowd funding maybe vc (venture capital) is a better term for it.

Crowd funding has the connotation now that 1) its a crap product 2) it's a scam for you to donate money.

What basically you are saying is that Xiaomi has an open platform for you to submit products that you need vc to get made. They will provide guidance as well where nessessary. The end product however is not made in house by Xiaomi but it should meet their standards and not the usual "Chinese crap" standards.

  • Good Price

  • Can't tell if this is O-Series or Matte Black.. given there's usually a $40-$50 price difference would be good to know :|

    • +1

Looks like O-series Black (Rechargeable) but can't tell for sure as Amiro does have limited edition variations (e.g. O-series Pink is Valentine limited edition), better go in store and check what the package says.
Quite surprised to see Costco stock them as well.

  • Regular price

Here is hoping that Costco bring in more xiaomi products to Australia

  • Can this be used for youtube video lighting instead of a ring light?

    • You need to be awfully close to the mirror to get good quality light, so not sure where you can mount the camera.

Just picked one up. Can confirm this has a 2200mAh rechargeable battery and the colour is space grey.
