This family-friendly game has a pretty decent 7.9 rating on Boardgamegeek. I pulled the trigger after seeing the price drop. Now just need to decide who to give it to for Christmas!

The prosperous Kingdom of Greengully, ruled for centuries by the Forever King, has issued a decree to its citizens to colonize the vast lands beyond its borders. In an effort to start a new village, the Forever King has selected 6 citizens for the task, each of whom has a unique set of skills they use to build their charter.
In Charterstone, a competitive legacy game, you construct buildings and populate a shared village. Building stickers are permanently added to the game board and become action spaces for any player to use. Thus, you start off with simple choices and few workers, but soon you have a bustling village with dozens of possible actions.
Your journey through Charterstones many secrets will last 12 games, but it doesnt end there. Your completed village will be a one-of-a-kind worker-placement game with plenty of variability.

YMMV but this is one of my least favourite board games.

The permanently changing and updating the board / rules may be for some people. Not me. Also you put the game down for a couple of months and its not worth picking it up because the rules (stickers) are a mess, and dont really make a lot of sense.

+ve because its a great price to what I paid

Same! My group played a few rounds and we haven't picked it up since.

      • As with everything YMMV; the group I've been playing with has been really enjoying it. We're about 3/4 of the way through the campaign, and nearly every session we've immediately played the next game just because we've wanted to keep on playing.
