Hoyts Kiosk/Video Ezy Machines using Gift cards

Today I went to rent some movies from the vending machines, video ezy or used to be known as Hoyts kiosk. I used a gift card which had zero balance because I had some codes, was just wondering if people don’t return the disks ontime or they just actually keep it, how can the company charge for the extra time lapsed? I was thinking of CCTV or maybe something that prevents this from happening, care to share some thoughts?

    There’s really no point as the The case and the CDs are not original, they made copies prob for this reason? so stealing copies doesn’t make much of a sense.
