Looking to pick up a Lego Mindstorms EV3 kit for a birthday gift in late January. Anyone know if I am best to wait til after xmas, or do this things go out of stock after Xmas?

The best prices i've seen are ~$330-$350 from hobby warehouse and shopforme when they have sales.
stock is usually low (it's an old and expensive set)
if your birthday recipient is primary school aged and you have an ipad, consider geting the boost kit as a backup plan.

Things go in and out of stock all the time. If your local store doesn't have stock, go to another or order online.
