There is no more important event in human history than the Resurrection of Christ. This event not only evidences God’s intervention and love into the human condition, it tells the world that Christ is Lord.

The great thing about the resurrection of Christ is that it is not something God asks believers to accept with blind faith. This is an event that happened in human history with hundreds of historic details that people are called to examine to gain confidence in their faith in Christ.

That is why this 30-session Credo Course is focused solely on the historicity of the resurrection of Christ. There is not a more important event for Christians to know inside and out. The historicity of the resurrection is sure to tame any skeptic (outside and within).

Yes, any other religion would get the same amount of negs. A lie is a lie is a lie.

In the present day, now that Christianity has lost so much of its power, it is a relatively benign strain of the ‘religion’ disease, but it’s still a disease.

For me at least, I see evangelism, or any attempt to spread Christianity as despicable as the intentional transmission of HIV. These negative comments are 100% warranted.

    • +5

I don't know that I've ever seen texts for those religions appear on ozbargain. If they did, I'd be shaking my head just as hard. This isn't a bargain, as you can get exactly the same tired arguments for free on countless YouTube videos. It's selling a religion.

      • -2

        Buddhism > Everything Else

    • -1

Would it get the same amount of negs for a buddhist, hindu or muslim audiobook?

      Yes

Or is it because your parents made you go to church a few times and you always hated it and need to let out your repressed frustrations here?

Trivialising someone else's experience? Invalidating someone else's feelings?

      Yet you think

      unwarranted hate towards Christianity?

      So…

      comments are disgusting.

  • +6

I think the mods need to get over here and remind people the rules for negging and respect.

    • +10

Why is unfounded belief in imaginary sky-wizards worthy of respect?

      • -1

Can you prove that He's imaginary? If not, maybe you should leave well enough alone.

What makes you so angry about this anyway?

        • +4

My friend, you have some confusion as to on whom lies the burden of proof. It's impossible to prove that something does NOT exist, on the other hand, there is as much evidence to support the existence of god as there is for Humpty Dumpty.

What makes me angry? I think a better question is "why is this an important issue?". In answer, look at the ridiculous state of affairs in the world based on the belief of things that just ain't true.

No h8 tho m8. We're all on our first play through here and people make mistakes.

No place for this on OzBargain. Find somewhere else to spread religion and fairytales.

    • meh, don't read it, people have a choice you know, plus you don't have to take everything so literally. Perhaps as a historical document it has some value, you might also be able to learn about why your western society is the way it is…

    • Got good deals during black friday? Where do you think black friday is coming from? We all celebrate fairytales public holiday during Easter and Christmas. Isn't that good?

  • +2

Religion has become interesting to me again, I think the last time I found it interesting was when I was about 5. I have to thank God for that (i.e. Jordan Peterson).

  • Damn, paid $99 just last week, should i ask for a refund?

    • Don't you mean US$99?

  • +2

    I like fairy tails.

    • +1

You should let people to believe in what they want as long as they don't start hatred, wars, because of that.

On the other hand as much as God is a fairy tale to many, so too is the science about the existence of the universe. I am not doubting the facts about how it came to be, but about where it came from. As what is the possibility that one tiny speck which suddenly explodes not only makes stars, galaxies, etc., but life too, and an extraordinary life at that. Now that in itself is a fairy tale too. Just out of nothing you got something. And not just that, but that everything is in order. If it all happened just by an accident, and everything is random, why don't we have a square moon for example? And it doesn't even have to be in our galaxy. Tell me what caused them into existence in the first place. It's easy to observe something while it's already there, tell me how it came to be and what was before that.

Sure I may be wrong. There is no one's hand behind this. It is all just the stars and you know dust, which brings us to this. We are either alone in this universe or we are not. If we are alone, then unfortunately everyone will end up 6 feet under or maybe urn until the end of the world. The end result is, you started with nothing and you ended up with nothing. Your life is all but cosmic dust.

Now, if we are not alone in this universe, then when I see you, I'll tell you; I told you, but you didn't listen. Either way, I am fine. I am either going to be 6 feet under or I'll be telling you; told you, but now is late.

People blame religion, when religion has nothing to do with it. It is manmade invention. If it wasn't for the religion we would still have wars. It would just be some other excuse. Religion was just a smokescreen for power, wealth, lust, etc.

You don't have to believe in mumbo jumbo, but if you all used what Jesus said in commandments, (you can disregard commandment about love thy god), how much better this world would be. But people commit crimes in the name of god, and people commit crimes just because. Humans hide behind religion so they can justify their crimes, but at the end of the day there are only two fact. You are either just end up being cosmic dust again or you will be judged.

      Take your pick.

      • +4

why don't we have a square moon for example?

        Because gravity.

    • Oh you must be new here. People pay a lot for other fiction too. It's just what floats your boat.

      • No,not new. Just don't fall for fan fiction about "Jesus".

        • Some people pay for it, some pay even a lot more, because they believe or they just want to look good in the eyes of people, like mafia

    Freebie, move to forum.

Religion is no longer about doing good, it’s a big money making machine, milking the livelihood from gullible individuals. (Evidenced by my attendance at a church owned congregation hall for a kids music recital over the weekend, and we were asked to make a “donation” using the ‘tap and go’ payment terminals.)

Nor should this be listed as educational. At best, it should be in entertainment. While the Bible is a compellig story, it is just a story none the less. It is not a factual text book, and even if it is based on a real person, they were no more than the typical cult leader of their day.

It’s a hard one to neg legitimately.
Cheaper elsewhere? I would say yes, as I value my time more than having to sit through 30 CD’s worth of confirmation bias training manuals.
Major issue with retailer? Not with their supply of the product, but certainly what they are trying to supply. We don’t need any more religious views pushed onto anyone, lest of all those who can least afford it. You can’t pray away your problems. No, Mr Morrison, farmers in drought cannot just “pray for more rain”.
Lastly, more significantly some would say, is defective product. One only has to read over this thread and at the comments made by people who have been brainwashed by religion. They are starting arguments and trying to convert the people on here of the wonders of joining their cult. I think any product that does that to people is defective by its own nature. Religion to me feels like nothing more than a huge pyramid scheme. The people at the top are making all the money, while the ones at the bottom are trying to justify how awesome it is, just to get more people into this scheme before it collapses.

And I think, because of all the drama that religion starts every time it is posted, it should be sidelined, along with guns and adult pleasure devices. There is so much free out there already about these cults, if people want the info, they can just get it. It isn’t a deal, as the information is always there and it’s always free…

There's a flaming war every time there is a Christian bargain posted.
NOT every deal in Ozbargain is a deal for EVERYONE, that doesn't mean it's not a bargain.
Christians will find this a bargain as well as those who are interested in the Christian faith.
If you are not interested, then move on.
If you don't go around negging every deal that doesn't suit you, why then do you neg particular ones that don't fit in with your worldview.
Are you saying that Ozbargain has no place for Christian deals…oh wait for Christians??? "We don't want your kind here" Is that it?
If you want to debate someone about the Christian faith, by all means do it, at least find someone in person to have a real discussion rather than an ONLINE "tit-for-tat" exchange that strokes your ego and your heightened intelligence and rational thinking.
FFS, sometimes atheists are the most self-righteous and destructive bunch - it wasn't religious people that killed over 100 million in the 20th Century, it was Communism.

    • -1

What religion is not relevant. This sort of thing is free all the time, i don't see this as a deal.

The JW's offered me a free book the other day, free hand delivery to my door as well. Is it a deal? No, it is people spreading their religion, same as this.

Are you saying that Ozbargain has no place for Christian deals…oh wait for Christians??? "We don't want your kind here" Is that it?

      That is absurd…

FFS, sometimes atheists are the most self-righteous and destructive bunch

      Sure, so are many Christians/theists.

      • Freakin ridiculous arguments
"What religion is not relevant. This sort of thing is free all the time, i don't see this as a deal.
The JW's offered me a free book the other day, free hand delivery to my door as well. Is it a deal? No, it is people spreading their religion, same as this."
        1) This IS a deal because it is normally $99USD and is now free - the JWs give their books for free, therefore they are not a bargain.
        2) It is a course to help Christians understand the resurrection to be better able to explain it to others.

Are you saying that Ozbargain has no place for Christian deals…oh wait for Christians??? "We don't want your kind here" Is that it?
        "That is absurd…"
Really? That is exactly what is happening here. Post any other crap and you won't see half the flaming wars as compared to this topic.

FFS, sometimes atheists are the most self-righteous and destructive bunch
        "Sure, so are many Christians/theists."
My point is exactly in response to the rhetoric that "Religion causes most of wars and kills more people than anything else". Christians are called out for being self-righteous and destructive all the time - that's old news. But no one calls out atheists for doing exactly the same thing - as with my point about Communism. You're just jumping on the bandwagon and not stating anything new.

        • +2

So if a religion only sometimes gives away the info they claim is $XX then it is a bargain. I don't buy it. This sort of thing is free all the time. Sticking a price on it and then giving it away doesn't necessarily make it a bargain.

"2) It is a course to help Christians understand the resurrection to be better able to explain it to others." Yes, info that is freely out there 7 days a week.

"But no one calls out atheists for doing exactly the same thing" Right, no one… Despite the fact several people have in this deal already.

          • @Duff5000: So, as a Christian I find this to be a bargain. I can get the Bible for free online, as well as a whole bunch of resources. But there are also paid resources, like video and audio courses such as this one. People take time to create the resource, and there a people such as myself who are willing to pay for it. For example, many years ago I wanted to get into share trading. I could just Google and try to find what I need, but instead I bought a Shares for Dummies book. So the investment of $20 was worth say 20 hours of research.

My point is that just because this post is not a deal for you, it doesn't mean that it is not a deal for some. I am surprised how many people jump on posts like this one to give their rebuttal of how religion/Christianity is all wrong etc. If it doesn't interest you, then move on. I don't jump into posts that I have an ideological disagreement with and try to argue that it is not bargain - I'm like "It's not a bargain for me, but I guess it's a bargain for some".

You are right, my statement "But no one calls out atheists for doing exactly the same thing" is incorrect. I meant "usually".
