Haha, fair enough, yeah, I waste way too much money buying games straight away, and by the time I start playing them, they're a quarter of the price if not lower.

$15 still seemed a lot cheaper than the other stores when I posted that.
I know there's a bit of a circlejerk around hating this game, but it really is crap. I paid about the same and couldn't get through it.
Did EA/Bioware ever patch all the issues with it? Because the last I heard, they basically gave up and abandoned the title.
A lot of the major issues have been fixed… the main problem with the game is that it feels unpolished, especially in terms of character animations and dialog, the patches help but doesn't fix the problem completely. It kind of feels like you're playing the game a few months before it was meant to come out. But other than that, it's not a bad game even if it doesn't live up to the original trilogy. You are correct in that the title is pretty much abandonware at this point, most people jumped on the hate-train early on and weren't really willing to give it another chance, so they stopped trying to improve it. I'd say at this price point, if you don't already have it, you'd be crazy not to pick it up.

It is a great game in my opinion. I bought it for $59 at EB while it was fairly new. Best $59 I have ever spent since I probably played it for like 100 hours total.
But then, I find nothing wrong with Mass Effect 3's original "short" ending either. I probably have low standard/expectation. :p
I wouldn't say the game is 'crap'. Yeah it isn't incredible like the original Mass Effect trilogy. It just felt unpolished with bad animations and generally ugly female character models, also ran into several bugs during my play-through. Ignoring the character animations and bugs, I'd give the game a 7/10. It's okay, not great, but not terrible either. It had some interesting plot points and characters, was quite a massive game, and the combat was on-point. The post-release patches also went a long way to fix the initial problems with the game. If you haven't picked it up, at $10, you're getting a lot of game for your money, just be sure to update the game before you start playing…
Combat is extremely balanced. I played guns-only, combat powers-only, tech-only, constructs-only, biotics-only, and any mixture of 2. All work well.
You did alright with constructs only? I found it boring a tedious going, bullet sponges and low damage output meant you just waited until enemies slowly drained. I much preferred high damage output with low protection, kill them before they kill you.
I picked this up for $10 on Wednesday at warringah mall.

Sold my PS4 copy for $30 after finishing the game one month after release. Dodged a bullet (in terms of depreciation).
Terrible game. I loved the previous mass effects, was so disappointed with this one.
Not so great when compared to the original ME trilogy, but as a stand alone it’s a bit of fun. Especially at this price point.
