Do amazon Australia packages require signature on delivery or is there an option to leave it at the front door?
Is there a difference for shipping from amazon au and third party sellers?

From my experience over ~150 orders, sold by Amazon has always been left at safe place without signature. Fulfilled by Amazon is pretty random so probably depends on what the seller has requested.
If its from amazon directly, they will leave it unattended 100% of the time if you arent home, if its a 3rd party then more than likely signature on delivery. Sometimes they dont even knock and just leave the package at the door. ive had that happen a few times.
I don't understand how/why Amazon would leave high-value item unattended. But yeah in my experience they always leave unattended.
My oculus rift with fastway required signature….
From my experience if its fulfilled by Amazon, They will leave it in a safe place.
