High Quality Pictures for Canvas Painting

Hello everyone,

I am trying to take advantage of the BigW canvas print offer which has been going on for a while (20 x 40" (50x100cm) Panoramic Canvas Print).

For this, I want to use pictures of my choice from the internet which are of high quality. I checked some images in unsplash.com and others in google

Since I haven't done this before, can anyone suggest any other websites with high quality images? Also want to know what size images I need for the 50x100 canvas?

If anyone has prior experience, please pass on some knowledge.

Cheers!!

Did you know you can find large images from the google images?
Select, Tools, Size, Larger then 10MP+

    https://pixabay.com/

    • Thanks Geoff!!

Yeah I did search that way as well but I am restricted to what images I get in the search. For example I want the Singapore city skyline at night and the images that load up are not of my liking. I am just giving an example.

On the other hand something like this https://pixabay.com/en/pair-autumn-evening-sun-nature-379837… if you look at the download szie for a size of 5184×2911 is only 1.9MB and I am afraid this will look bad when printed on a large canvas.

  • I print large format images and stickers for a job, I'll have a look when I get on a pc.

Also need to consider canvas isn't smooth so it will hide the resolution abit.

You can do a reverse google image lookup from images.google.com

I find searching Singapore city skyline then click on an image then goto more images comes up with better results.

    • Thanks mate ! I will check it out as well.

      Have a good evening !

  • The reverse google search found that image you linked 4mb @ 5184x2911 its 300DPI which should be fine to print.

    • Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry for late reply.

Can you please let me know how you found the dpi for the image ? It's not in properties.

I thought we divide the pixels by inch. Am I correct?

  • On Windows 10 you can see it under Properties-Details on a JPEG. PNG's doesnt show but you can check in photoshop
