Hi,

I purchased V8 Vaccum from US amazon and now the charger can not be used in Aus.

What is the cheapest solution for me.

    get a step down voltage converter/adapter thingy
    you know, one of those travel things

    or check the charger head and see if it says 100-220v or something similar, if yes then you just need a simple adapter that changes from US to AU

    Cheapest solution is a travel adapter, the kind a US tourist would bring with them to Australia.

    Cheapest would be travel adapter, as others said, but not sure if I would trust it. Alternatively you can find an official AU charger for ~60 online.

    Can you take a photo of the Dyson power adapter(the back side with writing) and put it on a site (eg imgur) and link it here.

    It will either have a multi voltage plug (and will say something like 100-240v) in which case you just need a simple US-AU adapter which can be had for $5.

    The other option is that it will be a 100v only plug in which case you need to contact Dyson and confirm buying an offical charger in Australia won’t cause issues.

    DO NOT just use a standard travel adapter without checking the voltage. It could cause serious electrical or fire damage to your house.

    Hi All,

    I bought Dyson V8 from US Amazon and purchased the replacement battery charger from Dyson as per the suggestion from Ozbargainers but now my charger does not fit into the vaccum.

    Anyone with the same problem?

    Any solutions?

      Are you sure the voltage is the same, propably why it does not fit.

      On your other post, I suggested you should call Dyson and find out if the charger is the same…

      I take it you didn’t do that. Where did you buy a charger from ? And what exactly did you buy?

      I can’t imagine them changing the chargers from country to country to country apart from the power plug.

          Ok, that doesn’t answer my question though.

          The US style charger and the Aussie one look the same on the respective websites so I’m not sure if you are genuinely asking questions here or just taking the piss.

          What exactly is the issue? Power Plug doesn’t fit or the charger doesn’t fit?
