$10 Mystery Zazz with Money Back Guarantee

33

Zazz have a $10 mystery item today (and knowing Zazz, it'll be available on DX etc for $5 at most) but with a money back guarantee, it can't hurt to try, I guess??

Quote from Zazz (on the forums):
It is worth every cent, as you will not find this Thingy anywhere else and it may cost you $2 to send it back (if you ever do)

So it's up to you if you want to take the risk. Catch managed to turn some of us around and suck us in, can Zazz do the same?

All we can do is pass on the same hints given to us. Here they are…
- It's cool but not cool - yeah right!
- It should come in handy when you're working on your PC
- All your friends (and enemies) will want one as well.
- It will make your desktop fly
- But no batteries, charging or power necessary
- Suitable for Mac, Windows and Linux users
- Drivers are definitely not required
- It is unique and has amazing patterns
- Useful on a daily basis and will never run out of juice!

For reference, last year's Zazz April Fools item cost $4.74.
It was also a cr@ppy zazz lanyard and a bottle opener.
So this year it might be 2 lanyard's and bottle openers ;)

Disclaimer: I haven't been sucked in and don't think I will.

So why post it. It's not a bargain and will absolutely be crap coz that's all Zazz ever have.

    • +2

So… you don't think it's a bargain, you have no idea what it is… Did I miss something?

In defence of Ashlea - she has posted this item as a potential bargain, for people to purchase if they want to.

Someone might post a brand new car for $5 here, but if you don't want/need that car, it isn't a bargain for you. Does that mean she shouldn't post it?

I think it is great that it has been posted, that is what ozbargain is about, making people aware of bargains (including possible bargains) that they otherwise wouldn't have known about.

Of course most people would realise that buying a mystery item from COTD or Zazz is a REAL risk. But there is that $2 money-back-guarantee, as Ashlea has posted.

OK Ash - you're on your own from now!

We'll just have to agree to I disagree, I think the scope of "potential bargains" is too large and too subjective! No offence was intended.

        • no offence taken, and I'm sorry if my post suggested so. Your point is valid, and perhaps the "Mystery Item" may fall in the same basket as the "scoopon" type deals (BEFORE they are activated)

can you not read. "it may cost you $2 to send it back "
          you lose money either way

        • ;)

      • You mean just like the catch of the day post yesterday that seemingly close to 100 of us bought!?

Sounds like a USB fan possibly with lights on it for the 'amazing patterns' and not worth $10 :)

its from zazz, like with most products you can take the value of what they think it is and divide it by 3 to get the real value.

Result: You can probably buy this for $3.33* from dealextreme.

Also if it doesn't need power then it can't be a usb device right?

    • Hmmm, didn't think of it that way. I assume they mean it doesn't need to be plugged into a power point, but describe things terribly because, well.. they're zazz.

      thanks for this reminder :)

    • I fell for it too. Can't remember when I last needed a bottle opener - it went in the bin.

      • I just use my teeth, or if I'm feeling a bit "Charlie Sheen", I use my eye socket to open bottles

        • Hot. Very hot.

    flying toaster maybe?

EDIT: Not suitable for mac/Linux I guess. so maybe not.

They used to have their "Mystery Crap Bag" (sic) very freuqnelty, but it has been a while since I last saw one. Maybe the 'mystery' factory has all died down? Heard of 1 or 2 people getting big ticketed items, but generally the name never fails.

Now back to the deal posted, my guess is that it could be some sort of USB warmer (coffee/mug/hands/toes/feet?). Not so sure how it makes your desktop fly though.

I just wanted to publicly admit that I HAVE been sucked in by this deal, and now I feel very ashamed. (should I neg myself?)

In the copy they do state that you can get your money back if not delighted with this product

  • You'll still have to post it back to them and that will probably cost $6-7 knowing australia post.

      1. broden Jr, It is an honour to have you here !!

      2. This was brought up in the Zazz forums, and it was responded with the cost of returning the item would be no more than $2

      3. Please give my regards to your pop!
