What's appropriate buying from Daiso as Christmas Gifts?

Hey guys, what do you think is worth gifting an item from Daiso for Christmas? I was thinking of getting one of the cute tea towels or reusable chopsticks or fan for each close family member of mine and close friends (total like 12 people lol) so 2.8*12=33.6

Or is this too frugal of me and should I splurge a bit more and buy two items each and every word them in newspaper or something like that haha?

  • Actually, in general does anyone have recommended gifts that's pretty cheap and useful for everyone? Last year I gave paw paw cream ointments haha (families are overseas and I read an article that it's pretty popular and useful, they seemed to like it but doing the same gift seems boring)

It really on what they gave you last year

If they have been spending $100 on you yearly for the past couple of years and you give then $2 I think they will give you some coal next year .

They don't get me anything lol (I just wanna give presents anyway because it's fun but I also don't want to break the bank)

    • Coal? What about the environment?!

      • If you don't burn it, coal doesn't affect the environment.

If you want a cheap option that isn't naf then consider making stuff like Lemon Curd, Tomato relish, etc. Get some nice jars and gingham covers. If you have a Sous Vide then this is relatively easy to do as well.

    • :( folks are overseas and totally don't cook haha they all eat out

Postage would be higher than gift value.

Maybe get something cheap from an online store and post direct.

A set of chopsticks, wasabi peas pack and a flavoured basil seed soft drink.

    • Yeah I was thinking of the chopsticks is but what are the rest??? I don't think everyone will like them lol

      • Its a game, bro.

Use chopstick to pick the pea up, eat and get tongue burn. Quickly chunk the cold basil drink but tell em at the end those black things are frog eggs, in the drink. Have a happy unforgettable merry xmas….

        • Whaaa lmao what tradition is this? I think I'll get decked haha

Daiso Makeup Brush Cleaner is really good. I wouldn't mind pretty/cute chopsticks too, and Mickey Mouse themed kitchen utensils.

If they're from oversees, maybe something australian/made in Australia? Like hand moisturiser or lip balm.

    • I've already got them the paw paw ointment for last year, they all liked it but I don't want to give them the same similar stuff again haha

      • Food, like Tim tams, shapes.

        • You can get that in the supermarkets unfortunately

          • @drumrollplease: Even the unique flavours?

            • @Ughhh: Yeah, Indonesia, imports of most flavours are pretty common

              • @drumrollplease: not the zumbo ones. Coles chocolate chip cookies are good for Indonesians too! I got my relatives and friends to try them and they all liked them.

                • @purplelady: Haha eh. Those are normal food nothing too special also my family doesn't like (blasphemous I know) chocolate cookies.

                  • @drumrollplease: Oh OK.. Potato chips then? Lol or those crackers that come with cheese dipping. Can't remember what they're called.

                    • @purplelady: 😂 ah already always get potato chips by default haha not sure what the one is that comes with cheese dippings here in Aus but Indo has their own version too haha

                      • @drumrollplease: For me they are very ordinary, but dunno why, my relatives loved them so much and bought like half a suitcase full. Oh, and spam and corned beef XD
