SanDisk Cruzer 16GB USB Drive [AUD$24.95] @ Australia Post

330

Saw this on Australia Post's catalogue, also:
http://catalogue.auspost.com.au/portal/offerdetails/sandisk-…

Cheapest on StaticIce is $28.50.

Sorry I don't know much about its read/write spped tho… I'm just a normal guy currently still using a 64MB usb stick… so this is a good deal at least to me.

If you don't like this deal please don't come at me bro~

EDIT: you guys come at me because of the dollar sign! Changed to reflect the proper currency we're talking about.

FOX wanted to do the $ symbol but didnt know how

      • +1

Perhaps that's another tip that needs to be appended to the site wiki.

      • +4

I think FOX knows well how to make $'s. but when they can't, good shows fall.

        • might I mention dropping FG and then picking it up again in 2005

as for the bargain, if read/write speeds are similar to the 4GB then 16GB will take a hell of a time

    • 24.95 shekels?

      • Maybe 24.95 Singapore dollars :-)

  • Edit: wrong sandisk identified and whinged about. Apologies :D

  • Looks like a solid deal. Thanks OP
Does anyone know the RRP for a decent brand 16Gb usb ?

  • Seems like a decent price.

  • +1

These drives aren't particularly fast (a friend described his Sandisk Cruzer has the slowest USB flash drive he's ever used), but at $25 for 16Gb you can hardly complain. Very cheap convenient storage.

    • I do agree with your friend for this model, I would rather get Toshiba or Transcend for similar price (some at even cheaper price). BUT This Cruzer does Look nice and is retractable.

  • Pretty good price for 16GB.

  • Have to pop in there later, might grab a couple, useful for moving larger files around at work.

    • You must get paid by the hour… :)

retractable usb is pain in the @$$ .. especially if you try to stick in into the rear of PC.

    • +2

well if you stick anything in the rear… it would be a pain in the ass

Just bought one and tested the speed with Crystal Disk Mark. Read speed was 18.8MB/s and write 4.8MB/s.

    • +1

speeds are meh..any difference between large/small files

      • +1

That was copying 1000mb 5 times sequentially.

        • +2

          thanks for that!

        • +3

          neg? :S

        • +3

          Was wondering that myself.
          Cheers! :)

        • +3

my bad..accidentally clicked neg instead of +ve

        • +3

          clicking skills :)
just a neg tho, nothing to get in a knot over unless you've done something really stupid… but then you probably don't care too much anyway

          @ spawnpoint

          +1 to balance

        • +3

          hahaha

  • Cheers Broseph

  • Just bought a couple - I can confirm they do the job. Good bargain.

  • Also in BigW for the same price, though it looks different:

    http://www.bigw.com.au/electronics/computers-office/drives-s…

Anyone know if the Oz post one has an LED (I know the BigW one does)?

    • +2

Oz post has an orange light which flashes when being read.

  • I'm not so sure this is a great price for a 16G. I purchased a Toshiba 16G last Saturday in Harvey Normans (WA) for $19 and have since used it to watch high def movies via the usb slot on my bluray player with no complaints re read/write speeds. Just saying I think you can get these for cheaper but thanks for posting the deal.

    • Yeah I actually bought two of those Toshiba as well last Saturday in Gerry Normal (it's nation-wide). Then this deal from AustPost came up. Really don't know the quality difference between the two but can be sure both will do the job. Sandisk does have a nicer look tho~

    • was that mkv or avi and 1080p or 720p
I find 1080p mkv are not for every usb

  • One file was 1080p mkv and it worked fine. Mostly the files were 720p mkv although I also watched a couple of xvid avi files. No problems so far fingers crossed
