not bad. are .com.au included in the free domain?

    • Sorry. Only com, net, org and info.

Cheap prices isn't something I look for in a webhost, been burnt to many times with cheap and nasty solutions. I want a webhost with a good rep.

    Has anyone been with them?

Ehhh… Looks mega-dodgy. I smell cheap reselling. No ABN, heap of information looks copy'pasted, contact details are sparse.

Personally, I use dreamhost.com - never had any issues. Damn near unlimited EVERYTHING for under $10 a month (now, with strong AUD :D)

No such thing as "unlimited" in web hosting, especially not for budget prices. I'm surprised this kind of crap still sucks people in.

I beg to differ. My current plan is truly unlimited, as mentioned just above. It's running 3 demanding websites without any issues at all.

It all depends on who you're using.

      • How much are you paying?

        • under $10 a month (now, with strong AUD :D)

        • Nice price indeed, i presume its US-based hosting.

        • Of course. But who really cares about location - in the budget segment anyway. So long as the supplier is good, that's all that matters to me. :)

        • So you're comparing a $10 US plan to a $5 Australian plan…. sigh

        • Actually no. I'm comparing a USD$8.95 plan that offers unlimited everything (including domains) to a AUD$15 plan.

But hey, who reads, amirite? Or googles? Sigh indeed.

        • Well given you said you only have 3 sites it was a fair assumption to assume that is then not going to be more than 5 MySQL databases and therefore fit in the scope of the $5 plan…

Either way pricing and what you get in Australia for your money is very much so different to the US… ie. For the price I get my hosting in the US I would get a more congested server in Australia, less transfer space and still pay more….

Except the $5 does not offer multiple domains, thus rendering your argument invalid.

Sure, but you have to ask: why? Bandwidth is more expensive here, I'll admit, but unless you can guarantee that most of your traffic is coming from AU, the site will load faster from a US server.

It's a very circular arrangement. Buy an AU server, for AU heavy traffic, but pay more for international bandwidth pricing that you won't realistically use. Or, buy a US server, for cheaper, but pay with the possibility of sub-par load times.

Unmetered is usually a good indicator of overselling in webhost. Going for something within reasonable and paying a bit more probably keeps your hand safe from the burns. Something like $5 a month for 2gb space + 20gb BW is pretty much a less riskier choice.

If you can't spell check your main page, I can guaruntee you aren't bargain-worthy.

Touché, it has been fixed now however.

This website was produced as a cut-down version of another so that plans can be displayed simplisticall and easily. More information should be given and it will be added.

    • qkthr - you spelt 'guarantee' incorrectly :)

      • That's what he was pointing out to me… he knows how to spell it :)

  • i commend alexme for making a great attempt to find a bargain & sharing it :) - that being said, its still a dodgy deal…

    • +4

He's a store rep. I doubt he made much of an attempt to find this bargain…

Wow apparently lots of people not reading today huh?

      • Some people do not understand the definition of representative.

        • +1

Yeh but isn't it irrelevant, how does somone know how it's a "great attempt" to find a bargain?
The contradictory nature of the comments is good too.

          but it's still a dodgy deal…
Ah bugger it, having a bad day now I'm just ranting.

Agreed with everything you say. I really don't know how some people survive, it amazes me sometimes :)

Can only choose 12 month plans? Also I swear I have seen this exact web design before…
Suggest you check out webhostingtalk if looking to host somewhere

      +1.

I think it's one of the generic templates for dodgy resellers. :P

  • Can u advise how long this company has been in business

    • +1

They are nobodies, I doubt whoever running it is over 18 years old, hopeless website, and it's quite ironic that they don't have a .com.au domain considering their business name. No ABN either.

Obviously they couldn't afford a .com.au for what is it, $30 a year? Wow.

  • Seems pretty dodgy.

  • +1

Wow at how many negative votes from people who have not actually used the service.

Yes, it is obviously reselling but for someone wanting a cheap small webpage, this is perfect.

Over half the negatives on this page are unjustified and made from assumptions. For example, the post above mine "Seems pretty dodgy.". Would you like to expand a little further and explain why?

How about someone give it a go and then post from experience..

No ABN, heap of information looks copy'pasted, contact details are sparse.

Also, the payment page appears to not be protected, so enjoy sending those CC details over the open wires…

I personally haven't negged it for the reasons you mentioned, but it is most definitely a dodgy site.
