Didn't know that. You don't have to give location access to McDonald's though so I don't know how they'd know.

Maybe not if your friend is near to different restaurant to yours. At the point of the billing, location of the restaurant change to the nearest.
Just having a test, and I am as the order summary screen and have been able to change to a random Maccas.
Hit checkout, no indication it changed. Not going to actually order though :p
It does change, piss me off few times, we got two maccas almost km apart. I have to make sure Im 100m from the store. It change after payment.
Ah. That's shit. If that ever happened to me and I blindly checked in, I would be making sure I get a refund.
@tomsco: Good luck getting refunds from maccas. I have complained to them twice, they refund me once. Its sux when I have to drive pass one to get to another. So I can't order any meals before hand. This used to work fine.
It should be easy as, you pick a store, order, go collect it. That's how KFC and all the other app works.
Can be tricky when you go to a service station where reception can be a bit spotty indoors in the middle of nowhere and access other side of the highway is another Macca's.

If you have an android phone you can download "Fake GPS Free" and use it to spoof your location to the McDonalds, i've bought stuff for my girlfriend on it.

Last night (getting my $2 big mac obv) I tried to check in at the drive through and it decided I wasn't there yet. Underneath it said if you are really there, quote the number below to operator, which was maybe 8 letters/numbers.
I didn't actually use it as I tried again and it was happy I was there, but seems to suggest there is a way to override in their system?
