Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 Motherboard

I have been offered a Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 Motherboard for sub $50.00 however the seller claim it was working when removed from the system, but does not post now. From the image he has sent me I do not think it has a battery in it.

How much is this board worth now?
Is it a good board?

What are the chances that the battery is what is causing it not to post (normally if it were me that would be the first thing I would test on a system that has been dormant)

I do not want to advise him to put a battery in it and test it - as it may become a working model.

What battery does it take?

Any assistance would be welcomed!!!

Google could answer all these questions..

    • Google can give me some advertising etc - looking for some advice from people who may have experience with these boards - also Google wont give advice on Non Posting.

        It would though..

        • LOL - Okay - can someone who knows where to look assist me - I have not had any luck!!!!

Hence the use of a "FORUM" - a place to exchange ideas and assist people.

@Schema: I prefer myusername's response. Sometimes the answer does not come to people as quickly as it does to you.

I had downloaded the manual and read it - assuming that there would be a reference to the battery - but mostly I wanted opinions.

Really - I was looking for a hand - not just the finger - but have a share of my 1,000 internet points - I don't really care for them!

Now if you were looking for advice as to how to look after a reptile - then I would be the one to offer it - or advice as to a good one for a particular personality - then maybe I can help - or advice on how to build / modify a reptile enclosure without having to pay the pet shop prices - that area is one that I could really help you out!

But maybe - someone will read your posts and think bugger it - I wont ask the question.

So - not hard - but frustrating sometimes - and in a world that there is always someone that knows a little more - or a better way to do it - why not ask????

PS - Where do you want me to send your points????

    good luck

if it does work it's a great mobo

if you need to ask what type of battery goes in a mobo i suggest you DONT buy it as you may not have enough troubleshooting skills

cr2032 every geek has at least one sleeve at home lol

CR2032 - was the easy bit and was what I suspected - I have 4 on my desk at home.

I used to build systems myself - but that was when a 1 Mb memory stick cost $100.00. Now my son does all that - but I dont want to just go and buy a lemon for him - even if it does work!

      Thank you myusername.

Thanks for the advice on the whether it is a good mobo as well.

but does not post now. From the image he has sent me I do not think it has a battery in it.

If you're thinking that's why it's not working I think that's incorrect. The battery saves configuration but it should still past POST, boot in default configuration and allow access to the BIOS.

(Unless modern UEFI BIOS works different to old BIOS, I don't think I've ever removed a battery for a UEFI BIOS).

    • That's the kind of info I was after - Thanks
