Christmas Lights on a Rental Property

So I want to contribute to my street's community spirit by putting up some Christmas lights on my rental home (three bedroom house, single male) at some stage before the start of December. But I've never done that before and I'm unsure of how to attach lights to the house itself without affecting the property physically (which I don't own). I'm more than willing to use a ladder and a hammer but I don't want to affect the property permanently (leaving nail holes etc). Is there a method to do put up Christmas lights as a temporary measure that won't permanently affect the property physically?

Any advice? Or should I just Grinch this Christmas?

Could use some of the stick on hooks..

Or wrap it around some poles.

Just get one of the red and green laser projectors - they look better than most cheap light setups anyway

This, and a blow up santa

    • The laser thingos are great. Setup and packup time minimal

    • Didn't know they existed. Some of them have cartridges for images. I wonder how easy it would be to make your own image? It might also be worth looking at waterproof fairy lights for trees.

    • This is a good idea or zip ties.

You can buy gutter hooks that hook over the gutters and shouldn’t cause any damage. You can wrap them around trees, plants, poles etc. We use cables ties to attach them to things where possible.

  • surely some 3M hooks would be of great assistance.
or buy a couple of those light up reindeers and santa train tracks to lay on your front lawn.
or maybe tie ropes to columns and hang your lights off the ropes.

  • Depends how much you want to spend. this one from target costs 29 dollars. you can get more fancy ones on ebay with battery and solar.
