I'm Pretty sure they will be keeping an eye out for this. The price discrepancies between areas are huge, there is no way they will let people get away with using VPNs to dodge their money grabbing.

    • There is little they can do to regulate it besides have a one price spread across all countries, imo they should be glad people are still willing to buy and play RS with advances in gaming and the cost lower than ever to buy a computer to play Dota / Wow etc

Jagex Profit was 88m pounds last FY… Not bad!

      • Apparently they can put a block on your account until you pay Jcoins equivalent to the difference.

Not sure how common it is though, since there's spotty reports of it every year.

There's nothing I can see in terms against it and you haven't even done anything dodgy in doing this (no fake address required/etc). Have done it for years with no issues.

Nice. Strongly debating about doing this. Thinking about giving OSRS a go now it’s on mobile. Try and recreate some 10/15 year old memories of kid me on my dialup internet playing runescape

Edit: $5.7 a month is almost original rs2 members pricing ;)

    • You have a fair while to decide, maybe pick up the Google Play 7 days for free first and have a quick play.

      • I figured that might be the way to get banned. Use an Australian trial then a Mexican membership

        • Mentioned above previously, as far as I can see there's not actually anything shady about it. Nothing in ToS + you use real details (ie real post code - no fake address required)

No fraud required, not against ToS, etc.

    • yes play osrs on mobile. its good, so good i've reverted back to pc and playing 8hrs+ a day kek

  • Anyone know what the deal is with premier club? Is that the same as being a member? The link mentions stuff like additional keys? And loyalty points?

    • Yeah so you get 3, 6 or 12 months membership depending on the package.

    • yeah - it's a 3/6/12 month membership.
If you buy membership on Rs3 or OSRS it's valid for the other as well.
And if you play Rs3 you also get some extra little bonuses for premiers club (mostly cosmetic stuff).

      • +1

Ok so non of those extras are relevant to OSRS. It’s all rs3 stuff?

        • Correct, you'll only have membership at a better rate for OSRS. It can be worth it to occasionally open up the treasure stuff in RS3 for the chance at the 200m rare prize thing and swap it for OSRS gold though.

        • yep yep

        • Basically just cheap membership yeah (under half usual price). Believe there's been some OSRS cosmetics with it in the past, but nothing actually useful.

Pity Jagex closed Classic Runescape, wasted my childhood on that game. Found so much pleasure in chopping trees south of Falador and making bonfire.

Those who still play, are partyhats still rare? Think they were around 3-8 mil each when I still actively played.

    • +1

In OSRS they are worth 10's to 100's of thousand, everyone has a set sorta thing. In RS3 they are several billion, like the blue party hat is over gold cap.
