  • What am I not getting here?
    Why is this useful?

I don't know but he's talking about bagels

If you have to ask clearly it's not for you.

I think they're a good idea especially at ALDI.

      • -1

Could you explain what they're for?
Don't you have to take everything out of the bag to scan anyway?

Do aldi not pack your bags for you?

I only bought milky-way substitute from them 9 years ago so I'm not familiar with their practices.

Still 40 bucks just to organise your stuff before you get home.

Seems ridiculous to me. Pay me 40 dollars. I'll organise em for ya

        • +3

No, Aldi won't pack your bags, you have to unload trolley, load trolley, then pack bags.
Still I wouldn't spend $40 for these bags, I'd rather just do it myself.

        • $21.75 they are. ALDI stores overseas often sell this style and sometimes in Australia they do.

These save you time because you can pack the bags directly at the checkout instead of putting the shopping back into the trolley, taking it out at the bench and packing into bags.

          • @Maverick-au: Why can't you just use those 15cent bags from Coles to load your stuff into bags at the checkout?

I don't shop at aldi so I have no idea and it's a serious question. I'm used to loading my stuff into bags at the Coles selfserv checkouts.

            • +1

@Name: Because you don't have time to pack bags at the ALDI checkout, they provide packing benches to the side for this purpose. You only have time to drop the items back in the trolley.

This system with four large bags suspended and open means you can drop the shopping straight in without any delays.

Ah that look you get at Aldi when you can't keep up with the checkout person!

    • +3

I know just what you mean. I usually just throw everything from the checkout into the trolley. I often get strange looks because I toss the stuff like it's a race. But I feel bad if I am holding others up and the stuff on the conveyor belt is coming faster than it goes into my trolley.

As for the bag issue, I just double layer those new big Coles bags and i've never had any split :)

      • Why? The checkout person is just going to have to wait once they fill up the space that's available to them to store stuff they've scanned? They're not going to start throwing things at you?

        • The system that ALDI uses requires you to put everything straight into your trolley or you hold everyone up.

I see these as just more junk

      Yep name checks out.

      • and the 'original comment award' goes to…

"username checks out" is always such a lame comment. It mystifies me why it is so common for people go out of their way to say it when it just makes them look like they have L plates on their forehead

      • Classic Maverick…

The trolley bags cost more than my groceries.

  • Whatever happened to the good old days when the trolley just came home with you too!

  • Nice trolley load of shipping in the pic. 4 cartons of beer, 2 packets of crisps and a packet of popcorn. Tea for the hangover.

  • I always just out the food in order on the conveyor belt ready to bag. Simple step?

  • Do they fit costco trolleys?

  • Awesome I've been looking for these for ages. Thanks so much.
