Thanks OP. I've been using a couple of old of 32gb and they are great.

    • +6

Yes. Fatest USB stick I've used.
But the sliding USB often retreats when I try to stick it in, making insertion quite troublesome on occasions.
Then again, it must just be my particular unit.

Are we still talking about flash drives?

        • +4

Yes. I thought that was obvious.

I should also mention, my wife agrees its the fastest USB stick she'd ever used. She is an IT specialist, so has had a lot experience with such things.

Tell me you manage to at least get just the tip in.

        • +7

Yes. The problem is establishing a meaningful data connection.

          • @avan1976: Do you normally leave it plugged in after transmitting all the content?

            • +1

@apollovan: I leave it in for several seconds, then use the "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" option. My wife says I'm being pedantic, but I like to play it safe.

        • Sometimes it's like trying to push a noodle in!

      • You got some accordion action

      • I think extreme pro is the fastest.

      • Spreading a little peanut butter on the tip can help.

Shipping is only $6 via the non-ebay BL site.

Not for me, you liar!!! Brisbane region,

      • +3

Fair cop ;D Looks like it varies, I'm in Sydney and it says $6.

What sucks though is that the shipping charge just multiplies by the amount ordered, so harder to get multiples. I wanted three.

  • Any deals on 256GB?

  • Good price. Need a new fleet of imaging sticks for the end of the year. Was about to buy 64GB's for $38-$42 ea from Amazon.. so this is a good saving and double the capacity.

  • Thank you, OP! Got one! Now what do I need this for..

  • These have a very high failure rate.

    • Source?

      • Read some reviews, but its got a 20% failure rate within 12 months.

    • I think you're referring to the Extreme "Pro". From what I can see, 99% of the bad reviews for the Extreme "Go" (on amazon) are for disappointing speeds.

  • What's the speed?

    • +2

Nowhere near what's quoted by sandisk apparently. From what I can gather from Amazon reviews, real world speeds are around 85MB/s max.

      • And for some more importantly, whats the average Write Speeds?

        • +1

Yeah even worse it seems, some average as low as ~35MB/s.

          • @CH: Still good if you can get one for $29/$38, but not so good if paying closer to $70 or more.

  • USBs that retract are a PITA… especially with Murphy's law saying that you'll always try inserting it upside down the first time around (and second, in some cases). Good price though!

    • the women prefer retractable sticks

  • Awesome thanks OP.

What's worse is I can remember paying this for a 128 megabyte USB memory stick many years (decades?) ago…

  • Can try get another extra 5% at Officework Price Beat too…

  • Can only buy a max of 2 on their website so it’s not worth it with that much shipping.

  • Bing Lee - Pickup Order#1007xxxx is being reviewed. Looks like they do not want to honor this offer, or is it a price error?

    • It appears to be limited stock. Perhaps no stock at your location?

    • Pickup confirmed at Moore Park NSW.

    • Update: got confirmation email after 1 hour, ready to pick up now.

  • Bought one from Carlingford. Seems to be plenty in stock about 45 mins ago.

  • Purchased one, but suddenly find Sandisk in Australia only offer 1 year warranty to it according to bing lee website. In other market(e.g. China), sandisk offer worldwide lifetime warranty for extreme go & pro series.

    • Not true with this. Sandisk offers a lifetime warranty on Extreme flash drives in Australia.

It must have the best flash memory quality.
