How much are paint balls? And how many is sufficient on average?

    I've never been.

    • +1

Last time I went passes were $6 for equipment hire, etc. Went through about 600 paintballs which from memory was about $60 worth, so not really a massive bargain when you add it all up (unless you bring all your friends and don't pay for paintballs)

    • +1

They are certainly not cheap. You'ld need about 500

    • +1

if youre using the standard semi auto tippman 98 custom (which most fields do as a standard package) than around 500-600. any other markers above that with a higher firing rate than you could use up to 1000.

Looking at the MoP website for Moorabbin, they indicate that for a regular booking:

"To secure your booking you will be required to pre-purchase your first 200 paintballs. $50 Online and over the phone."

This would be in addition to the standard $45 entry fee. Additional paintballs are $20/100. I've never been paintballing myself so have no concept of how many you would need. I assume most people get shot quickly therefore don't use their allowance - unless they pretend they were not shot, or end up shooting at a tree at the end of the game?

Mind you, the description says the gun fires up to 7 rounds per second, so normal entry fee for 200 paintballs & entry could theoretically set you back $95 for < 30 seconds of shooting time.

    • SEMI-auto. Not auto :) Besides, if you need to autoshoot for 30 seconds you don't have the skills to play :P

      • +1

But if you time it right, everyone else will be shot in your "Shock and Awe" campaign and you'll be the winner. :-)

        • I could just imagine it in my head :P

only an average deal if its $20/100 paintballs

for reference the last paintball deal
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36714

      $15/200 paintballs +pizza.

Then again - this might be more my style of paintballing - rather than rambo style - everybody is only allowed 15 bullets/round? :)

Spreets has a deal today for $20/200 paintballs, inc. Dominos Pizza lunch

        http://spreets.com.au/deal/Melbourne/recreation/3268/enjoy-s…

Seems like a better deal if you're in Melbourne, given the JumpOnIt deal appears to be $1 + $50 for the same number of paintballs.

        • It's actually nation wide
          Look harder
I won't post up the nation wide link since I'm leaving it for you. But IMO much better deal than this.

By nation wide, really means VIC, NSW, WA (since that's where the fields are).

The one in NSW (Camden) is a good place, the staff were very friendly and knew what they were doing. 200 rounds lasted us about 2 hours IIRC and that was with conservative shooting. I went out and actually tried to use my 200 rounds and not conserve and I lasted about 1.5 hours, had to get another 100 rounds to finish off the last half hour. The actual games were 15mins each and then you take a break for a bit inbetween games (so that would explain why the shit usage rate wasn't so high). Half the fun is the actual game play the other half is the awesome stories of who you shot and where you got shot! (those breaks were pretty awesome from the stories we had lol)

just called Delta Force Paintball. their deal is better than MOP.
$20 for first 200 hundred paints…and buy in bulk and share with your friends..eg.$300 for 2000 paintballs ($15 per 100 paintballs)

          looks good!

  • gotta get my eyes checked before going paintball-ing!

Conveniently leaves out the cost of actual paint balls. $1 to stand around being a target isn't exactly a deal. When the cost of actually participating cam easo;y blow it out by over 10000% (check your eyes, yep that's right, ten thousand percent) it's definitely NOT a legit deal.

So true, too much crucial info is left out,

What is included in the $1?
      Do i get free paintballs?
      What about protective gear?
What is your rate for 100 paintball?

      The post is almost spam

  • +1

alot of places will have entry for $20 including 100 or 200 paintballs, this is hardly a good deal, just as sly as those printer companies selling printers for $10 with no ink

EDIT: the spreets deal is way better in terms of value, you get 200 included paintballs and also lunch, that one is worth a mention, this one isn't

  • I went paintballing the other weekend and easily went through 800…and we were late and missed out on 1/4 of playing time! Set me back $150, but it was for the whole day (I went to the World Series Paintball place)

  • for samford paintball QLD it would be.

    • Standard “Action Pack”: $30 for gear and 100 balls
o Jumponit: $1 for gear and $18 for balls – cheaper by $12
    • Standard “Battle Pack”: $67.50 for gear and 400 balls
o Jumponit: $1 for gear and $72.00 for balls – more expensive by $4.50
    • Standard “Monster Pack”: $97.50 for gear and 600 balls
o Jumponit: $1 for gear and $108 for balls – more expensive by $10.50
    • Standard “Tac Pack”: $132.50 for gear and 900 balls
o Jumponit: $1 for gear and $162 for balls – more expensive by $19.50

As a result, although it may look cheaper – Jumponit is actually more expensive…unless you want to play three hours with 100 balls.

  • Terrible "bargain".

  • +2

deceptive, especially to those who have not been paintballing before.

  • Oops…. I almost bought 5 passes.. Thought it was a bargain./
