WD 4TB My Book USB 3.0

Delivery to Melbourne looks to be about $19 but free with Amazon Prime.

Click Frenzy means 11% off through Cash Rewards, assuming CR works on Amazon AU site when ordering an international item. Note that I haven't checked this and would be grateful if someone could confirm.

Total if you have Prime and CR becomes $116.70

This HDD is around $190 at Scorptec and $200 at JB. I'm sure it's available cheaper than that somewhere but I can't find anything close to $131.

Edit: Looks like it was $4 cheaper back in August :)

Any idea which WD drive is inside - Assuming blue?

    • Potentially its white label RED drive, which essentially is a RED Drive with TLER disabled.
I know the 8TB one was definitely a white label RED Drive.

hey what is the Explain it like i'm 5 years old explanation of having TLER disabled?
        thanks!

    • Yeah I was hoping someone would be able to answer that too. Previous deals suggest it will be a Blue but I can’t confirm.

  • Does this have an app marketplace like google play?

Keen to install something like qBitTorrent or Transmission and just run it all the time

    • Friend, this is just a powered hard drive. No apps or anything, storage only

    • It is an external hdd, not a nas. Any software provided runs on the computer it is connected to. It is a "dumb" drive.

  • powered Desktop, would get if 2.5" portable.

  • good price for a 4TB desktop drive, heck even good just for a 4TB internal drive, got one just for bulk backups and ease of use! Thanks op!

  • Buyer beware, WD has built in hardware encryption that cant be disabled.

If the enclosure gots kaput, you cannot take out the HDD out of enclosure and read it in a PC, even if there's no password set.

Do you know if it has password protection. I have very bad things to hid.
