I have been looking at getting a Fire HD8 for the last 6 months, but I can't buy it from Amazon AU (don't offer it), US or UK.
Contacting Amazon did not help either.
How do you guys buy them?
I also asked about freight forwarding, but the ones I found wanted me to pay more than the cost of the item.
This is not a Government issue, issue is with Amazon AU. Amazon US could add GST to Australian customers easy but they decided not to. They add VAT for European customers, why not change it for Australian customers?
Ebay updated it, its not that hard for Amazon.

Got my sister to buy and send when they were on sale. Amazon AU just seem to be totally useless.
Isn't it great how the Liberal and Labour Parties dribble rubbish about free trade helping everybody when the reality is they remove costs for billion dollar multinational businesses and place barriers in front of everyone else.
One such barrier is applying GST to foreign purchases which removed your ability to trade with Amazon.
So if you voted for these charlatans you voted for this: removal of your ability to trade.
