I hope nobody's spending $5.50 on 10 litres of water and a bin full of plastic, unless they really, really have to.

$3.50 after bottle return refund. 10c per bottle refund now in NSW, QLD, SA and NT.

I hope nobody's buying it in Vic.

Yeah but who CBF returning them given the costs for most people to get to the recycling depots.

        • One right around the corner from me, most people would stock pile until they reach at least $100 worth of containers then go. Its a good way to get your children on board about recycling and for them to make money at the same time.

          • -1

@brandogs: That would take me many years to stockpile that many containers and how can you fit 1000 containers in your car? Plus you have to store them somewhere and you have an ant problem etc unless you wash them. Why can't we return them at the POS where you don't have to drive to a dedicated depot and waste time, money and fuel?

I can't see how it can send the right message to children, surely leading by example is the best way to teach them and not wasting fuel, money and time which for most people is going to require hundreds of containers to partially offset.

You have to be a moron to buy bottled water for daily consumption. There are very few good reasons to buy bottled water - if not for those, I’d be negging this deal. Describing water as “lip-wetting” is both superfluous and weird. If you really care about supporting McGrath Foundation, drink tap water and donate every cent saved, which would amount to a lot more than buying this ocean-choking junk.

Where we live, the tap water is horrible, not only it tastes like crap and iron but it also makes us feel sick afterward. My husband and mother refused to drink tap water and I always complained to them ("think about the wasted plastic, the environment, the cost…blah blah blah" but then I started getting sick from the tap water as well, threw up and started not drinking water overall. Maybe the tap water is different in different states or different suburbs? I live in WA Perth.

      • -1

Which part of Perth? How do you know if it's the water?

        • Oh I know. I was against my husband and mother for not drinking tap water so to prove them I was right, I was the only one drinking the tap water. Everyone recovered from feeling sick and I was feeling nauseous all the time. The water tasted so heavy, not clean at all. Every time took a sip, I tasted iron (metal tasting) and want to vomit almost immediately. My doctor said there may be other things making me feeling sick but that for the process of elimination I should stop drinking the water and see how it goes. I continue my days as normal, except for drinking bottled water (the big 16litre spring water or normal bottled water) and I was better. Months later, I went back to tap water to test and was sick again, threw up minutes later.

          Girrawheen area in Perth.

          • @Airi: Oh, and I have tasted tap water in restaurants, they are fine. Tasted my neighbour's (my relative) tap water and they were awful. I think it is the area. If you live in a good area or outside Perth, I think your tap water would be fine.

Bottled water is great. Tastes better than both the tap and filtered shit we get here.

      Here here!

I live in WA Perth and the tap water tastes like iron and heavy to drink. It made us all sick. Have to survive on bottled water, which is unfortunate since they are so expensive.

      • -1

Wow i wonder how people even survived before bottled water existed 😂 it’s all in your head. If not, get a water test done and submit it to your council to make them fix it or demand they deliver you clean drinking water. It’s against the law for them to provide you with non-potable tapwater.

    Now $7.35

  • Yeah, expired. Either somebody loaded up or they didn't have a lot of stock to begin with?

Officeworks have their aquatogo brand for $5 as a normal price for 20 x 500ml bottles, free metro delivery for orders over $55….as soon as the container refund scheme kicked in up here in qld woolies put their water up by exactly $2.40 and coles put it up by $2.50 so I switched to Officeworks

  • Same price $5.50 in Coles

    • Nice.. Looks like limited to few states..

  • Its back to $5.50 :)

  • boo

  • I bought a pack from Coles (travelling )
and there are no individual barcodes on bottles-
(so no refund 10 cents) NSW

    • But you would have paid the 11-12c on each container so they must be returnable for a refund?

    • I've taken these to one of the over the counter locations instead of the reverse vending machine locations that needs the code to be scanned individually.
The bloke over the counter never checked, he just asked how many bottles I had. So bring a lot and they dont check?
Anyway I got my refund despite these bottles not having a code

      • Thanks Maverick and Madaaara

I ended up testing this on a machine in
Goulburn NSW and it worked without barcode -must have detected bottle shape ?

Anyway got the 10cent refund on bottles 😎
