OnePlus 6 8GB RAM 128GB Storage - Gray, Black, Red, White - US $455.40 (~AU $630) Delivered @ Joybuy

1390
ONEPLUS02

Got this in a promotional email just now, seems like a good deal. Appears to include all colours, which is a bonus.

There's a link to a $5US coupon on the item page, just click to redeem it, then select it during checkout.
After adding GST it comes to $455.40USD. (sorry, I had the wrong conversion originally in the title)

Of course the OnePlus 6T has just come out, but I think this is still a great price for a great phone.

As a note, the site considers the order "done" as soon as you get to the payment stage… which is I think the first time you see the GST added. Thankfully you can just cancel the orders with one click on your orders page.

EDIT: a $20 discount may be possible with code ONEPLUS02, see here

This is part of Singles' Day Sales for 2018.

ONEPLUS02 works for me as well.

  • I am confused between OnePlus 6 8GB RAM 128GB or LG G7+ ThinQ 6GB version.. Can someone recommend ? I use mobile more for browsing and few apps..no games..I normally like the screen clarity and brightness…

    • +1

In my opinion mate, the OnePlus is a little more futureproofed than the G7

  • Quick question. This or the mi mix 3. I know the mix cost more but is it worth the extra money. Thanks.

    • software on the OnePlus will be better. If you have never owned a OnePlus, then this is the time.

    • .. and keep your outlay costs down .. that was it is easier to justify an upgrade in 6 mths :)

  • Is the shopback 11% legit? So for buying this phone i'd get $50 back?

    • I'm interested to know too. It seems to good to be true, especially considering cashrewards only have 2.1%

    • I used shopback when I bought it. It tracked my purchase and I have $50 pending in my account.

Full cost was $623.06AU after getting $5US off for paying via PayPal, using PayPal's exchange rates. So if my $50 cashback gets approved, it'll be $573.06AU for a 8GB/128GB OnePlus 6. I'd be very happy with that, but I'm not too worried either way.

Edit: As a side note, I was having trouble getting the ONEPLUS02 coupon to work. It only works after you save your address.

      • Just did the same, hopefully it all comes through!

Paid $624.90 from the discounted price using the ONEPLUS02 coupon for $20 off, there was a surcharge of (~$60 for GST). Then I proceeded to use Shopback cashback (11% which is equal to $68.74) so hopefully it will come to $556.16 after the cashback hits!

        • EDIT: Shopback cashback is only a maximum of $50. Hence, best case scenario is the phone being $574.90!

          • +2

@dumpthedummy: The sale price has dropped to US$419 so I bit the bullet and it cost me AU$608.17 including ONEPLUS02. So with $50 cashback it should now be $558.17!

            • @namenotspecified: That's amazing, it kept stinging me with ~$60 in GST so I couldn't get it lower than $624.95.

At the end of the day, it's an awesome deal for sub $600, and I almost bought a OnePlus 6 from Gearbest at $650 - phew dodged a bullet there :D

          • @dumpthedummy: Did your cashback track at 11% ($50)?
I tried buying last night but cashback was only 3.5%

    • Currently only showing 3.5% cashback..?

      • May have reverted back to normal level of cashback :(

  • Took the plunge on this one too. Thanks OP. It now has a new camera update which makes the camera the same as the 6T.

  • Anyone knows if the given tracking number is really working? Always getting "this number can't be found" message.

    • Mine's working ok.

      • I tried aftership and 17track, both don't work. How did you check yours?

        • +1

          Joybuy.com -> My Orders

I hovered my mouse above the Tracking button next to my OnePlus 6 order and the details appeared there (Ship Carrier, Track ID, and status. I then copied the text after 'Track ID:' and pasted that into 17track. Worked fine for me.

Just make sure you are using the Track ID rather than the Order Number. If that doesn't work, maybe give it a day and recheck. If it still doesn't work then Joybuy may have given you a wrong Track ID and you should contact them.

    • Use 17track and make sure to use or view as desktop. Does not work in mobile mode for some reason.

  • Oneplus02 code doesn't work anymore

  • Anyone have any updates with tracking yet. Mine still seems to be stuck in China ?

    • Guangzhou City still since 15/11

      • Same for me.

      • +4

My one is now saying there's problem "广州市, 退回 妥投" or "Guangzhou, return to the proper vote" according to translation.

        • +1

          same with mine

  • I still haven't received any tracking information whatsoever. Mine could be in Addis Ababa for all I know. Anyone else in the same boat? I ordered on the 12th and am beginning to get slightly concerned.

  • Looks like they are all stuck at Guangzhou. Not Very impressed actually dont think Ill be buying off this mob again .. Thats a awful shipping service.
My tracking has not changed since the 12th ..
    Stuck on ..
Leave Guangzhou sent to Guangzhou express company

I've been tracking through both the My account on Joybuy and China EMS tracking. The information provided as below:

    China EMS -
    Timing - 2018-11-19 18:16:18
    Site - GuangDongShengGuangZhouShi 51016508
    Status - Returned to Sender

    Joybuy Myaccount -
"广州市, 退回 妥投" translates to Guangzhou, return to the proper vote

Not sure why but have emailed and hopefully get a response, will update.

  • Here's the latest update of my order, purchased on Nov 10.

    2018-11-15 22:20
Guangzhou, leave Guangzhou sent to Guangzhou Express Company

    2018-11-15 22:20
Guangzhou, leave Guangzhou and send to Sydney

  • +3

Yep it's been returned to sender. I just did the chat to find out what's going on and here is the response:

"about your shipping information shows the parcel have been returned , so you could please be more patient for the re-send. since the shipping carrier need the updating the system"

i was also told that the shipping can take 15 - 21 days, when my tracking says 8-12.

She kept telling me don't worry about the shipping just be more patient…..

    • Mine has been returned to sender as well.

    • Same. Returned to sender because it was stuck at customs or something. Not happy.

  • +1

Chatted this morning with Joybuy. Here's their response:

"The order was returned because the item cannot pass the customs inspection. But please don't worry, the carrier is arranging to reship it, and there will be a new tracking number."

Seems like they messed up everyone's order.

  • +3

Update on the previous post. Here is their response:

We are sincerely sorry that we are informed by carrier they will resend the parcel again because it failed to pass the security check. And we will notify you once the new tracking number generate or the original tracking number works within 3-5 working days

Thank you for your understanding and support.

I replied asking for priority shipping and can only hope that they'll sort something out, will keep updating.

Hopefully you all get your phones soon!

    • +1

your response makes a lot more sense than mine. thanks for the update

  • Anyone received theirs or had it clear China?
Mine has been the save for a week

“CN-510081, CHINA, Received item from Sender (Outbound)”

  • Mine also returned to sender . Chat was absolutely useless.. Usual dumb responses such as please be patient it will resend ok. Blah blah blah.. First and last time from this mob.. Someone has screwed up major no joy in buying from these clowns.

    • Same here after waiting for 10 days. Thinking to ask for refund. Not so excited anymore to get this phone now.

  • Apparently a huge number of orders is experiencing this problem, to the point where they've listed this:

"What if your package carried by JD-insurance is returning?"

as one of the top FAQ when you are about to engage in online chat.

    The official response is:

"Dear customer, we are so sorry to bring you such inconvenience. As the item is with battery, your package carried by JD-insurance is returning. Please don't worry as we are handling with this and your package will be resent. Please rest assured that the Postal service will reship the package in 3-7 days after they receive the returned package and our system will update the new tracking number as soon as it is reshipped. Due to there is a big batch of parcels waiting to be processed during the promotion period 11.11, the delivery time frame may be affected. The estimated delivery time frame will be 21-30 days after your package is resent. The carrier will try their best to deliver your parcel within the time frame. Thanks for your understanding and support!"

Wondering what the stuff up is here…is it JB's fault they didn't declare the content of parcel properly, or is it China EMS' fault? Either way, not ideal.

    • I think I might be cancelling my order after reading this .. No way am I waiting 21 to 30 days. Thats Rubbish.. The least they could do after their stuff up is to send these items via priority.. At this rate and knowing how busy the postal service gets close to Christmas you would be very lucky to receive anything by christmas.
I will be cancelling my order and request a refund first thing in the morning..

      • Agreed, with Christmas is just around the corner very likely to receive the phone next year.

      • +1

Yeah, it's a bit ridiculous. Best case scenario, 3 business days for dispatch and 21 business days for delivery lands on the 27th of December. I requested a refund even though I spent $20 on a protective case for it. I was expecting to have the phone in my hands next week, I'm not waiting until mid January.

I'll come back and let you guys know if they approve my refund.

  • +1

They are refusing to issue a refund for me today. They want to wait to intercept it from the carrier.

    • Yes, that's what they told me that they will only issue a refund if the parcel has not been reshipped. Can we ask PayPal to step in?

      • my experience with PayPal has been they won't get involved unless you've been trying for a while with the seller directly. The item was meant to arrive tomorrow based on the originally quoted deliver time. Any other options? Credit card charge back?

    • I'm in the same boat. I received a message which said essentially the same thing.

  • I'm thinking of picking one up on eBay with the 15% off tonight. Should come out cheaper and arrive sooner than this one

    • +3

Just bought one from 7272wil with ebay 15% - ended up being $579, so $50 saved. Hoping I can get a refund when joybuy gets their act together

      • +3

Same here, just purchased one from 7272wil. Don't forget 1% CR. Cheers.

        • I initially wanted the 256gb , Just picked up a 256GB 6T for $780 ~ on Ebay. Absolutely stoked and I Will be making sure this refund goes through.. This is where the Amex Card comes in Handy .

          • @bazzazz: This what they said, "If we could not intercept this parcel, and if the parcel can not arrvice before Christmas, you can refuse to accept this parcel. When parcel return to our warehouse, we also can raise refund to your account. So do not worry". I don’t know if this makes any sense. It's not shipped by registered mail/parcel, how can I refuse to accept it?

            • @kampret: I told them that the parcel was promised to me within 8-12 days - I now have no use for it. They didn't uphold their end of the bargain . If it goes pair shaped .. Thats when Paypal and Amex will be my next point of Contact

    • +1

what are you gonna do about the refund? Some of us have less money than we'd like, so can't afford to buy from eBay before a refund comes through. Please keep us updated.

  • Iput through a request for a refund last night and have screenshots of our chat. And an email from them that a intercept request has been sent. I already made this very very clear with the rep. I will not sign for the parcel and that they should save themselves the postage costs.

    • +1

but how absurd that you need to wait for it to come here, refuse, ship back to china, before they'll issue a refund

  • +2

bought from 7272wil ebay. Used the 5% off gift cards and 15% for $554.14 + the 1% CR on top.

Now just need to make sure joybuy refund

    • +2

Just got a message from my 7272wil order, delivery planned for Monday - super quick postage

  • I'm starting to think the tracking is made up. I contacted them yesterday as I had no update since 17/11 and figured mine was being sent back too. Now this morning the entries from 16/11 and 17/11 have disappeared and I have:

Guangzhou, leave Guangzhou sent to Guangzhou Express Company
    2018-11-23 23:24
Guangzhou, leave Guangzhou and send to Melbourne
    2018-11-23 23:24

    • Mine finally updated also. With the exact details yours has - times the same as well

    • Nothing gets updated on my tracking. I hope they've really cancelled my order as I got a notification from 7272will this morning that my order has been shipped.

  • Hi guys, not sure where to ask, so figured since a few has done a refund, I'll ask here.

My phone was "return to the right vote" on 19th. I assume that means it was sent back to their company. So on Friday the 23 I contacted their support and had a chat with a certain "Mike" to request for a refund. After some argueing, he finally says he will be refunding me, and that was at 6pm.

The issue is, I kept texting him at 30 min intervals and he keeps saying wait a moment or just a minute. And last I sent him a message at 8pm for an update and I totally forgot to check up until the next day when the chat was already disconnected.

I checked my order status on the site and it's still under delivering. So did he just take me for a ride, or is it actually happening albeit not yet processed?

    • I got the message similar to what the guys above got, which is something the lines of 'we'll let the courier know to intercept and once we are able to intercept the package, we'll issue a refund'.

I don't want to spend another $600 on another OnePlus 6 during this sale period without knowing that my JoyBuy order will definitely be refunded.

      • I requested my cancellation on the 21st. Havent had confirmation of cancellation or a refund yet. However , I received an intercept email on the 21st so they have had plenty of time to intercept the package. I also made it very clear to them that I would not accept the package if it were to arrive.

        • So you got an email on the same day you requested the refund?

Yeah, I made the same clear point. I won't be accepting the package if it arrives. Since it's already with them, might as well save us both the trouble.

I haven't really received anything from them. Probably wait till Tuesday and contact them again.

          • +1

@sh4hp: I ended up lodging a dispute with PayPal as I just can't trust what joybuy are saying. PayPal have given jb a week to respond otherwise they say they'll just take my payment from jbs account and refund me

            • +1

@lucyr: I think I'll have to deal with JB through PayPal also as I've received my phone from 7272will this morning.

            • +1

@lucyr: I did the same today .. Cant trust this mob.. They are holding my money for a mistake they made.. What happens if or when the parcel doesn't get back to them. Best way is to get Paypal involved asap.

              • @bazzazz: So I raised a dispute in PayPal with regards to the matter, and the rep replied with

"Dear customer, for your order. Because of shipping reasons, we have informed our carrier to try to intercept your parcel. When the parcel is returned to our warehouse, we will refund you. But if we fail to intercept your parcel and it arrives you, please sign the parcel. And if you really don't want it when it arrives you, please reject to sign the parcel and we will refund you when the tracking shows "It has been returned to the sender" Thank you."

"When the tracking shows It has been returned to the sender" which means what exactly? If the parcel miraculously disappears during the way back, they won't refund me?

So how do we proceed from here?

                • @sh4hp: Finally got my refund through paypal.

I replied the message above by saying the tracking number given already states that the item is with them, and since they haven't given me any updates on redelivery, I have fulfilled the requirement of "it has been returned to sender".

Got my refund few days after.

Thank you for the help people!

Now, where to spend the refunded money on….

  • +1

Emailed them and received a reply telling me it will now take 30 - 40 days for the phone to arrive. One big headache from this lot..

    • +1

You've got that right, huge headache. I don't think I'll be buying from joybuy in the future. Mine hasn't even been dispatched again yet. Last tracking event was 7 days ago when it was returned.

Edit: I've contacted them through PayPal because their customer support is pretty useless when you go through joybuy, if I'm not happy with their response I'm escalating it. I want my money back already so I can actually buy a phone.

      • Keep us updated. I was told ETA 23rd December. Would love to cancel too but if I buy from 7272will and need to return for some reason I've heard that they don't exactly come to the party?

        • My previous order with joybuy was quick and prompt, this one feels like they just dropped the ball on how to stick a correct label on.

  • Have any of you that filed a dispute with Paypal escalated it to a claim yet ?
I havent had a response from JD. I will give them another 24 hours to respond and then I will escalate it to a paypal claim .

  • +1

Just chatted with Joybuy as I have not heard from them about the 'interception' of the package. Decided to chat for one last time before escalating this to PayPal (they said they will email/message me once the package has been intercepted but I have not heard anything).

They have confirmed that the package was intercepted, and the order will be cancelled. The refund will be processed in 7-15 working days.

We'll see what happens. The fact that they updated their FAQ to say that the waiting time is now 30-40 days once the package is resent is a no-no.

I understand that it could be as simple an error as sticking a wrong label on the package, but they could have handled it better, e.g. by offering heavy discounts or sending a new phone using DHL or equivalent. When I asked last week what they were willing to offer me as compensation, they simply said a $10 coupon code.

Nope. Think I'm only using Joybuy for 99 cent cables and the like from now on.

    • +2

Just checked on PayPal. JD (Joybuy) have indeed processed the refund and it's now appeared on my PayPal portal. Feeling relieved.

      • +1

I am still getting nowhere with these morons .. They keep repeating the same crap. Decided to ask them about the intercept today and was informed that the item has now been shipped … Not sure if thats true or if they are just guessing.. It has been 6 days since the intercept email they sent me and I have not heard anything about it since.. When did you request the intercept @megabytez ? I dont trust these bastards one little bit anymore. Time to escalate to a claim with Paypal i think. Sick of wasting my time with these useless idiots on chat and getting the same stupid responses..

        • My timeline:

          11/11: bought the phone
          12/11: received tracking information
          19/11: package reported as returning
20/11: chatted with a rep, who said package didn't pass customs inspection, and that the package was returning and being reshipped ASAP. Was also told that if tracking info was not updated in 3 days, I should contact them again.
23/11: heard nothing, followed up, and was told they would resend in 3-7 working days. Asked about reimbursements for the delay and was told they can only offer a $10 coupon. Decided to cancel the order, and was told the story about the 'interception' of package.
27/11: followed up after no communication. Was told that the interception was successful, and that the refund period is 7-15 days. Received a PayPal refund a few minutes after ending chat, and order shown as cancelled in the system.

It's very frustrating. I'm hoping everyone who got caught up in this mess gets their refunds soon.

  • For Christ's sake now what… my tracking has been flagged "alert"… what does this mean?

Mine was dispatched again 2 days ago, tracking information isn't in the system yet.

    • Mine was flagged "alert" on the 19th. The tracking log is similar to yours.

So it's been continuously going back and forth between JoyBuy and China customs since I've purchased the item. I would've had no clue what was happening if it wasn't for following the comments in this OzBargain post.

Contacted live chat and have requested cancellation of my order. Hopefully it will go through.

In the meantime, I have bought $500 worth of gift cards for $475 (see other OzBargain post) followed by utilising 'PUDDING' coupon code for 10% off followed by 1% cash back from ShopBack on a OnePlus 6 from 7272Wil on eBay.

This has bought the phone down to essentially $585, most likely $580 once cashback comes through.

Even though it's $10 more expensive than what I've paid with JoyBuy, it's a bargain to me as I'll actually receive the product in the next week instead of next year.

Hopefully this helps some of you guys since I've been checking my order from JoyBuy everyday, keenly waiting for it to come until I realized I would receive it next year which is completely unacceptable.

Note: I have contacted JoyBuy chat multiple times and they have basically said 'its coming, be patient, takes potentially 30 days' until last night where I told them that the package has been going back and forth from customs and JoyBuy and the person offered a lousy $10 coupon. Hence, what sparked this post!

Good luck everyone! Hope this helps :)

    • We are all in the same boat mate .. I purchased on the 10th Nov. and was sent tracking on the 12th - Sat there in Gangzhou til the 20th and then the "Returned to right vote" which I believe means was returned to sender.I then through chat requested cancellation and an intercept on the 21st Nov. I have been in chat over 8 times since and each time they just get me angry with their useless B/S. I cant see how the item could not be intercepted in all this time..
I hope I am wrong but .. I don't believe you will have much luck with the morons @ joybuy .. I think their aim is to keep all the money in the bank for as long as they can. .. They will just keep telling you the same BS til you blow your top .. I am going to call and speak to someone at paypal today and see what are my options — I don't intend on waiting til the package arrives and then to have to send it back to process my refund.. that could potentially take up to 3 months to happen with stores like these if you don't take early precaution!! I requested the intercept on 21st November . And yesterday was told that the parcel has already been sent.. I don't trust anything they say in chat.. Will keep you all posted..

  • Well according to the seller message, my order got reship with a new tracking ID which they gave me, but still haven't have any tracking info for the last 3 days.

Ordered on the 11/11, returned to the sender on the 19/11, asked and got new tracking ID on the 27/11, still nothing in EMS system today.

    • +1

I have to wonder: are these guys incompetent or is this a deliberate ploy since maybe they're losing money on the deal? I quantify this because my screen protectors which had a 3x shipping estimate have already left Sydney without any issues

      • Conveniently after I asked for a refund they told me that it had already been picked up by the next shipping company…

    • Is your tracking number working yet?

I was issued a new tracking number on 27/11. It's 30/11 and it's still not in the system.

      • Nah, I was told "the new tracking number will be generated soon" which is of course code for "we haven't got the parcel nor have we sent it out… we jist don't want to refund your money"

  • +1

The orders were sent back by customs on the 15th or thereabouts. Why has it taken 2 weeks for them to supposedly resend them? something very dodgy going on here. They have now disabled my chat as well. They will lose a lot of business in Australia with a seriously damaged reputation I should think.

edit: If they want to restore any confidence in us the phones should be fast tracked and not this delivered in January rubbish they are telling everyone. Chat appears to be working again they're just not responding.

  • +1

Actually curious to know if anyone has received their order yet, or has everyone been hit with the return to sender
