    • They're breast pumps.
Most people didn't come here for the damn prices!

      • I agree - the 20% off is the bargain.

  • Wild breast pumps. Go Mamas!

  • Thanks OP. Will have a Christmas baby, and Spectra S2 is on our watching list.

    • I'm due end of January. Only problem is its hard to know before hand if you need a pump, and spectra seems to go on sale every six months so… Decisions decisions. Any other pumps on your short list? E.g Medela?

      • My wife's trying to collect everything we MIGHT need.
Since it's tricky to try those pumps, probably just bet on one of them.
We get some info from friends that Medela Swings are not so good; while a Spectra S2 is working well. We also read ProductReview. Only Spectra S2 and Pumpables Genie are on our list. Considering Pumpables are sponsored, I prefer to Spectra with a 20% discount.

Yeah, I'm wondering if the added portability of the 9 Plus is worth it though (Except then it's no longer 'hospital grade')

          • @em: I'm a bit late with the comment, but can recommend an S1 if you're after portability. It's the same size as an S2 (so not tiny), but still hospital grade and with a battery so you don't need to plug in.

            • @sonome: Thanks! I'm not due until end of Jan and will be taking a year off work so I'm not too concerned about pumping initially, if I need to do it on the odd occasion I'll just get a cheap manual pump or something.

        • I'm currently using a Spectra S2 and it's fantastic - I really recommend it. I previously used the Medela Freestyle and it was not nearly as good.

Tried sharing a link from eBay for a car adapter we bought for wifey's Spectra 9 Portable to keep the battery topped up but got unpublished.

"DC 12v-24v 2a Car Power Cigarette Plug Charger Power Supply for LED Strip Lights"

$3 well spent. Just buy it early cos it'll take a while to arrive from China (#1).

Should work with S2 as well, same barrel plug and voltage and amperage.

Purchase one for the missus awhile back, Spectra is definitely the quietest, easiest to clean, half your pump time by doing 2 at once, on-board battery and small unit also very convenient.

I had to comment on this. Spectra make good pumps BUT just be careful with your insurance. Spectra claims they are an australian company but all their invoices state they are a singaporean based company. Our health insurance provider rejected our claim for the breast pump for this reason.

    • Wow, thanks for this! I am currently looking for a breast pump and only have read health insurance covering for breast pumps in the US and not Australia.
Do you mind if I ask which health insurance you are with? We're with DH but are unable to find any information on claim breast pumps with them.

      • Best bet would be to give them a call.
