"I'm sorry, the coupon code you supplied is no longer valid."

Gotta create an account and log in for code to work.

    • thanks for letting me know, that is now fixed, sorry about that

  • Didn't see much in terms of amazing or stunning deals there, even with the additional 25% off. If anyone spots anything great please make a list!

    • depends really on what type of game your after, as a fan of first person shooters it's hard to pass up on insurgency or even better day of infamy, not notch gameplay

      • Insurgency was free and in $1 bundles several times so paying over $4 for it is not a bargain given we are on Ozbargain.

Also, the other prices are nothing out of the ordinary - many games are available much cheaper on sites in deals or bundles such as Skullgirls on Fanatical for example.

        • insurgency is AU$3.5 but if you can get it for $1 that is an outstanding deal, do you have a link? but free? what for like a weekend or something?

          • @desync: It was in 3 Humble Bundle bundles for 1 dollar (War bundle in May this year, Jumbo Bundle 3 and 5), it was in a Fanatical Bundle (Nemesis bundle) in the lowest tier with many other games, and it was free on Steam to be added to your account permanently not too long ago!

            Another example: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/402744

It would help you to check first on Ozbargain - it will give you a good idea of whether something is a bargain or not.

The above applies to many games. Games that have been free before (examples):

            • Orwell
            • The Darkness II
            • Hacknet Deluxe
            • Whispering Willows
            • Xcom declassified
            • Kingdom Classic
            • The Ship
            • @Lysander: well that is amazing really, such a great game for free or a dollar is phenomenal

but all that being said it is hardly helpful to one who wants to get a great deal on the game today isn't it?

it would be more constructive to post up a better deal rather than to say some time ago, if you were quick enough, you could of got it for $x - if that was the standard then ozbargain would have hardly any posts

also it's important to note that this deal was for every game on the site specific for ozbargain, not just something that a developer wants to put on sale for a day, with the complete catalogue of games already off 50-70% plus an additional 25% on top of that with this deal to say it's rubbish or not worthy of ozbargain is a bit harsh

but then again i guess this wouldn't be ozbargain if everyone was happy

              • @desync: You can buy these games very cheaply today as well. Remember, this is Ozbargain.

There are many key resellers, some official, some not (eg. CDkeys: https://www.cdkeys.com/?q=insurgency). There are sites like reddit where games can be traded and bought. Many people will have extra keys for games like Insurgency that have been in bundles and/or free several times. I think I alone have three extra keys I could sell on sites like reddit if I chose to.

As regards posting deals, I think I do that quite a bit, especially when it comes to gaming.

Mate, instead of defending the prices, learn from it and do it better next time.

You could have a 99% off sale on everything on your site - it would not better if you start with high, inflated prices at the start.
If you sold Shadow of Mordor GOTY for $10 AUD and said "the original price is $60AUD" so this is a good deal, people here would still tell you it is not even though on the face of it it is $50 off because elsewhere you can get it for less all the time and just last week it was in a bundle with two other games for $1! So you see, you measuring standard of a deal, namely by how much something is off, is not reliable and relevant - it must be viewed in context.

A lot of people check on ITAD for the best prices and deals come along quite often.

If your deal was really that amazing the positive votes would be much, much more than 4, especially for a sitewide deal rather than one for a specific game. Check out other posts where the deals were really good for a sitewide sale and you will find the positive votes might be in the hundreds.

Also, keep in mind that people here know that you will argue this is an amazing deal - it probably is your site so really you have no choice but to advocate that position as you are not exactly what I would call unbiased.

If you want examples of what is a really good deal, check out the Green Man Gaming Castlevania Triple Pack and the Metal Gear Triple Pack posts on Ozbargain.

                • @Lysander: well thats better, actually posting a better price of something that is actually available rather than stating something like oh this isn't a good deal because i was able to get this for $1 back in 2017 - that is neither relevant nor reliable

also like i said the entire site was on sale, to suggest that better deals could be found for every item on the site is a little ridiculous, criticism is fine as long as it's accurate, looks like we can all learn from something here

                  • @desync: I can guarantee that for 90%, if not more on your site, it is possible without much effort to find better prices, either on Steam, HB, Indiegala, Fanatical, Reddit game sale threats, CDkeys, HRK Games, Instant-Gaming, G2a, gamivo, savemi etc. and all the other stores listed on ITAD.
I am sorry but that is the truth.
Why do you not find a game where you offer the all-time lowest price according to ITAD (which excludes grey or shady resellers so it excludes CDkeys, G2a etc.)? Let's try it the other way round - where is that killer deal on the site?

                    • @Lysander: well just checking the last sale i had was offworld trading company for AU$7.16, maybe not a killer but a good deal

you can't guarantee 90%, like i said, if you are going to criticise the least you could do is be accurate and fair

                      • @desync: I can guarantee 90% - I had a long look at the prices on your site.

OTC: $4.00 on a grey reseller site. Just FYI.

                        • @Lysander: of course because you keep moving the goal posts, first the benchmark is ITAD and now its where credit card fraudsters launder money… just complete nonsense

                          • @desync: Mate, who tells me your site is legit?
Given the way you react to justified criticism, it seems that you are not 100% legit.
In fact, it seems it is not as you seem to be trying to be passing off of another established site, namely Frugal Gaming.
If I was you I would not "throw stones when sitting in a glass house" - I think there is a good chance you will get sued if Frugal Gaming is informed of your little attempt to benefit from their reputation - maybe read up on the laws on passing off. -;)

GameSessions has nothing to do with money laundering. It offers a game that you sell for $5.47 AUD for free. And that is now, not in the past.

Also, there are many post on Reddit selling the games you have on your site much more expensive. Again, Reddit has nothing to do with money laundering.
Plus, sites like g2a etc. might be shonky because of their service and their attempts to sell you something you do not need (key protection guarantee) and because they are not official resellers but there is no evidence they are doing something illegal etc. as otherwise they would be shut down by now and ll payment providers would have withdrawn their services.

Finally, you are NOT an official reseller, so you are in the same boat as them.

Simply accept the fact that your prices are not that great which is okay. You can compensate a higher price with better service but given your reaction and unwillingness to see reality and learn, I doubt you can offer better and more friendly service than Fanatical, Humble, Indiegala and the lot. As I said, I am still waiting for those alleged killer deals on your site - so far you mentioned one (!) game out of the many listed on your site and you conceded that this was not a super great price. List some more. Prove me wrong. It will benefit everybody so I am happy to be objectively proven wrong.
For example, sell Shasdow of War Gold for $10 AUD her and you will get your killer post.
