What would be the best mobile phone overall if u were completely ignoring price? Not the ozbargain way but just curious on everyone's opinion as am in the market for a phone. I think the contenders would be the pixel 3, Samsung s9, iPhone xs and the mate 20 pro. Thoughts?

The one plus looks interesting, I think the mate 20 has under screen fingerprint sensor too. I wanted to go for the xs max but the lack of fingerprint sensor is a turn off for me.
Thanks for the link to the poll btw
Xiaomi are announcing a phone tomorrow to the UK which has under screen fingerprint reader. Probably mi mix 3 global, no notch, some versions with band 28, has nfc
Interesting. Think it will be easily obtainable in Australia
If work's paying, I'd just pop into the local store and grab whatever.
@follow: Yeah works paying, just want to grab the best option because I use my phone heaps for work.

My phone's the best . You can have it for… $400,000 or 10 bitcoins :)
Best phone
best smartphone is subjective.
True just trying to gauge the general opinion of ozb. What do u think it is?

I don't really follow phones, but was impressed to see an article about the mate 20 launching on 7nm tech. Those nvidia graphics cards that just launched at $2000 a piece are still only on 12nm. For reference, the s9 and iphone are 10nm.

Yeah I was thinking of going for the xs max(works paying) but reading into the mate 20 made me reconsider, it looks really good on paper
XS is 7nm too FYI
iPhone XS, XS Max and XR are 7nm too. https://www.anandtech.com/show/13392/the-iphone-xs-xs-max-re…
It's not something that you should make a purchasing decision based on though. 7nm vs 10nm vs whatever nm is only about what benefits the manufacturer can provide by using the more advanced tech. Generally this would mean smaller device/better battery life/greater performance but you actually need to compare the final device not the technology.
S10
oppo find x
I'd put the note over the s9
Yeah fair enough
Right now the note 9.
But if you can wait longer, I'd imagine Samsung'll be bringing something great to the table next year.
The leaks have started pouring in already for the S10 all over YouTube and so far things are looking bright.
Samsung CEO DJ Koh also officially stated that the S10 will be vastly different to the S8 & S9 in terms of design so that's something to look forward to! Good to see Samsung isn't following in the steps of Apple where the iPhone 6, 6s, 7, 7s, 8 and XR (somewhat) look identical. What a joke haha.
Id wait longer but works paying and they want me to get it buy next week
The note 9. Amazing phone
This is a tough one to answer as there is no one best phone. I believe a phone can only be the best for the certain user that will be using it and so depends on various factors.
For example if you like a phone which is reliable, has a clean UI and looks nice you can opt for the iPhone XS.
If you're a power user, love to customise your phone, like multi-tasking, need lots of battery, would enjoy a stylus option, don't want to pay extra for everything (like dongles, fast charger) and need a headphone jack you can't go wrong with the Galaxy Note 9.
Might just go for the note 9 just because better battery life
I want the new Mi Mix for a side phone though, i love slider phones
Yeah slide phones are nice
Classic Nokia 3310. You didn't specify what makes it the best mobile.
I love the Nokia too just if I could use it work….
I heard samsung is having a thing tomorrow to unveil the foldable phone, might be worth checking out first?
IMO the best VALUE phone is the ASUS Zenfone ZB602KL. Duel sim, 6GB/64GB, fingerprint reader and has NFC.
Yeah nice value but works paying so it doesn't really matter was considering the zen force before work said they'd pay
There's an ongoing poll here for Flagships in which you can make suggestions and vote on it

OnePlus 6T gets my vote for implementing the under-screen fingerprint reader (it's about time it's a thing) but we'll see what Samsung comes up with for the Galaxy S10. All screen-phone with no bezels sounds good.
