Best Travel Card for Europe (UK Inc)

Hi all,

Currently booked a holiday for 8 weeks in Europe starting with 2 weeks in UK and 6 weeks all around. Anyone have an idea on the best way to pay as you go with a card?

I currently have a citibank card however it did cause a few issues in the USA whilst travelling. I informed them of the travel however 3 times during the trip they froze my card and requested contact. I was using a US sim card and had to go online and request they call me which was a huge muck around. I've heard 28 degrees.

Main perks would be ease of use (not getting frozen for silly reasons) and exchange rate savings.

Cheers.

    28 Degrees or Qantas Cash

  • 28 Degrees is decent, but consider Bankwest Zero Platinum as well.

  • ING Debit Card - When you meet the criteria as they reimburse ATM fees.
UBank Debit Card - No International Tx Fees

    And check the Wiki

  • I've been using the Citibank card, 28 Degrees, and ANZ Travel Adventures cards across Europe over the last year. Still haven't told the banks I'm here and no issues at all.

  • Some sites you book for europe tours and events needs sms code verification which is hit and miss for 28 degrees but most of the time it works but just the odd ones doesn't. The odd ones used another card and works without.
