  • Thanks OP. Perfect for my Uber driver :)

  • Why is this a bargain when water out of your tap is effectively free!!

    • Not if you are the one paying water rates

      • -1

That's why I used the word 'effectively'!! - I haven't actually done the maths, so am approximating.
I pay water rates and I'm way happy paying 'approximately' 0.0001 cents for 250 - 500mls of water out of my tap.
So my comment is still valid for me - why is this a bargain??

        • So my comment is still valid for me - why is this a bargain??

Because it's a price reduction for the product from it's usual RRP. That makes it a bargain regardless if you like it/don't like it, prefer another brand or whatever.

It was $12, now it's $6 so it's a bargain for THAT product itself.

          • @Hybroid: But it is not a bargain for what the product (ie, fresh water) actually is available for

            • @MicMac: Again, it's a bargain for the product itself which is what the post is supposed to be about.

If you can find 24x600ml Frantelle bottles cheaper elsewhere, fair enough, but not replacing it with another product regardless of your opinion on it.

Many people dislike tap water for various reasons.

              • @Hybroid: The cost of the "Product" is 19 cents (on sale).
I'm guessing (again my un-expert approximation) is that the major component of the cost is for packaging and transportation, both of which are detrimental to our environment.

Water out of the tap seems to be much better in every way for both the individual consumer and for everybody else's environment.

Anyway, you're talking about plastic bottles of water while I'm suggesting a cheaper alternative.
I'm leaving it at that - cheers, Mic

                • @MicMac: The environmental argument for tap water vs bottled water is indeed quite valid but can unravel quickly if you start to delve into your other personal shopping habits etc.

However, none of that detracts from the point you don't seem to understand: This is a RRP vs offer price bargain. Not product X vs product Y.

If you like the taste of mouldy copper piping then sure go for it.

      • +1

You know that copper is antibacterial right?

You forgot the climate change cost of shipping water. Every cubic metre means 1 ton of water shipped around.

Ive just gone through a 24 packet of these.

For some reason some of the bottles were a bit sour, i dont think ill be buying these again.

I generally prefer the coles/woolies brand bottles, tastes just like regular water
