      Nah, my kids love it…

      • +22

Our Wii U still gets more play than our Switch… criminally underrated system.

        • +5

          Underrated by Nintendo mostly. :(

        • Quite the opposite here, the Wii U isn't even plugged in. Hasn't been plugged in since my son finished BoTW. The Switches (we have 3 of them) get used every day.

      • +8

It's a great system and these games here are pretty much all awesome.

        • +1

No "Tank! Tank! Tank!" though… :(

      • +3

yup wii u is def used way more than our switch… specially with the wii emulator kids still play mario galaxy and wii sports etc ..

        • +2

Is that because you don't have Odyssey? Or do they just prefer Galaxy?

          • +2

@King Steuart: i dont have odyssey im sure they'd love that too, if stores had stock i would have gotten them 3D world… i really prefer them to learn to play these types of games first before they get into fps and the rest when they are teens… its what i grew up with hehe

            • +4

@scud70: I think I played Doom and Wolfenstein before I played Mario 64.. I understand where you're coming from, but the exposure happens eventually. The important thing with FPS's these days is online, my kids will be monitored with online gaming and screaming down the mic will not be tolerated.

              • @King Steuart: haha i'm showing my age… i started with Atari 2600 and Coleco vision then SegaMS then all Nintendos from SNES on wards with an xbox n ps3/4 thrown in (i still have all of these consoles.. hahaha) online is scary for me as i hate online games… i typically stick to single player with good game play or story etc… sigh lets see how we go when they are old enough and get online hahaha

    • The release of Breath of the Wild marked the end of the Wii U.
Now that game is on clearance.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild $19

Or if you prefer a preowned copy, EB Games are selling that for only $68 !!

    https://ebgames.com.au/wii-u-154352-The-Legend-of-Zelda-Brea…

    • +2

      preowned comes with extra love

    • Definition of insanity right here

    • basically the same thing at EB isn't it? The new one probably has more scratches than the preowned one do to their returns and relabeling them as new

  • Dont confuse the kiddies

    • I've been using mine a bit lately for the first time in ages and the 2 year old calls it my Switch. I had to explain it last night, I was like "it's kind of like an older, crappier Switch, you're not entirely wrong, kiddo"

  • Damn this post and damn afterpay lol

    • lol since my work provides afterpay at all our stores one bit of advice if you can avoid using them for small purchases def do so… its really only useful in big purchases or purchases of multiple items in the one transaction :) happy retailing!

  • just started playing it on switch. truly amazing game, especially for being on a handheld system.

  • Ordered it and expecting a cancellation email from EB like always

    • Received it today! was expecting a cancellation, excited for Zelda

  • +1

Thanks OP, I've been waiting for Zelda to go on clearance.

    • I was out of the country for the Target deal earlier in the year… still have nightmares about missing it.

      • +1

DW you didn't miss much, Ebay resellers smashed the place at 9 in the morning and there was nothing left except just dance for everyone

  • +5

Been playing a bit of 3D World FINALLY recently, only game on the list I never got around to playing in the day.

As much as I love the Wii U, the only thing it did for the last 4 years really was Splatoon, and Game Cube, and Splatoon 2 got rid of that first one pretty quick, then I stumbled int a fat PS3 a few years back and have just played my PS2 discs on that, poor Wii U didn't get any love for ages

Until the other day when I finally got the thing ready to go to play back ups. God, I remember how great this thing is. Spider-Man in the bed, COD on separate screens, more Mario than you can shake a fist at, the Wii U really was something special.

But the emphasis is most definitely, on was, and it has been that way since like 2014/2015 at the latest. Remember when FIFA 14 skipped Wii U (and every other EA game, and pretty well every other game in general)? Remember when it was on the original Wii still? Remember when the (profanity) PS2 got FIFA 14 and the Wii U didn't? I do, it's a hoot. Know what I didn't know until the other day though? The PS2 version WENT PLATINUM. (profanity) FIFA 14, a game released on the PS4, went platinum on the PlayStation 2 nearly a decade and a half after the console's launch, but FIFA 13 on Wii U couldn't even sell enough copies for EA to bother putting the copy paste sequel on there. They shoved it on the VITA for shit's sake (and the PSP, too).

    RIP Wii U.
I always hoped you'd make it, but you were never gonna make it.

    • but FIFA 13 on Wii U couldn't even sell enough copies for EA to bother putting the copy paste sequel on there.

I got FIFA 13 on Wii U for $5 when Dick Smith went under…

      • +1

I got Black Ops 2 Wii U for $5 from them. Traded it in for 10 like a year later.

        • Who needs BMWs when there are high yield investments like these??

      • I remember when Fifa 13 was a collector's item for the wii U,. Sure i sold it once for $50 when people thought it was rare, however the games have all been returned to EB making them abundant again lol

  • lol breath of the wild sold out, ozbargainers much?

    • -1

      You jelly bro?

      • +2

i am, i ain't got no six pack

  • Ordered one, hopefully it doesn't get canceled.

  • Anyone know anywhere to get good gamecube controllers?

    • They are re-releasing the Gamecube Controller for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

      • Re-re-releasing it? They already brought it back for the wiiu version… can still get them direct from Nintendo (and also the GC USB adapter) by calling them.

        • +1

Yep Re-re-releasing it, with a slightly different Smash Logo. (Wii U and Switch Version)

Out of curiosity, what the prices on the controller/GC USB Adapter Direct from Nintendo?

  • +1

Will these come sealed? Be great for my collection.

    • +2

My 3D world from EB came sealed, a while back but well after release. I asked Target for sealed copy and they said impossible. Went to EB. No probs. Thanks for nuthin, know it all Target guy.

    • +1

Nearly impossible, you'll be lucky if they have the original manual or case.

I've bought tens of "new" PS3 games over the last few years building my collection and never got one sealed, have got a few in a generic case though (even though it was "new"….

Okami HD PS4 for (I think it was $9) which I picked up in store was earlier this year was sealed however, very surprising.

    • +3

Postage is $9.06 which means these will be shelf stock sourced from stores around the country.

    • +2

You won't get an official seal on Nintendo AU Wii U games, it doesn't happen.

    • New = Opened, finger prints and missing booklets. Good luck.

  • +2

they rarely come sealed from EB

  • +3

    No more zeldas in stock

  • Can I play these games on my PC or do I have to buy a Nintendo box?

    • +2

You can play them all in Cemu at 4k. Botw can even run at 60fps.

You need a wii u to dump the discs though. While a lot of people consider it morally okay, the cemu community won't help you if you do something like buy the games here, then download them from the internet with "wiiu usb helper".

Also note, to play online on Nintendo servers via the emulator, you need a real wii u to dump unique account files.

Edit: the real wii u is great for the toilet too.

      • I cannot even imagine the time it would take to download a ROM from the internet.

        • +1

What, a few gig? Unless you’ve got a bad internet connection wont be onerous.

      • Provided your console is near the toilet. Otherwise it just goes out of range.

I'm tempted to buy BoTW now, just as a collective item.

      • depends on how for that toilet is from the box as it runs on a 5ghz wifi internal network, anything over 10 meters from the box it will stop working

  • +3
  • No stock in Victoria for Zelda that I can see. What do you think the chances of getting JB to price match are?

    • They don't have a binding price match guarantee anyway. No chance.

  • +2

Dang, I already have all these games. Great deals though; any and all of these are worth picking up.

  • +2

I just got one for my kid and its amazing, u can get really cheap games at the bargain bin at ebgames or pretty much buy used copies from people over gumtree, plus, switch still doesn't have that many good games for a 7 year old to play with, people are literally giving away their wii u`s to get a switch with plenty of games and extra controllers.

    • +3

And if you stumble upon a Wii U Pro controller, make sure you keep it. They seem to be appreciating in price…

      • +1

1st Party accessories for a lowish volume console are like that.

Gamecube component cables are criminally expensive

Wii u is an amzing console and virtual store is kinda still available too!
Gamepad screen really makes it portable enough

  • +2

PS4 also has heaps of games on clearance from $4 to $9.
Decent sale just like the Mid Year Clearance sale that was on in May.

Just ordered 7 games across 3 local pickup orders.

This link should show all PS4 games less than $10, seems to be a decent amount of stock available.

  • Thanks got splatoon and smash bros!

  • Ahh I wanted paper Mario but sold out online and no stores near me ;(

  • +1

So now I have to pay delivery just for the one item :-(

    • +3

complain and they will refund delivery

  • Thought this was for the switch and got all excited

  • Have people had their order processed yet?

    • Yes, my order has been shipped.

    • Mine was canceled.

    • +1

Some of mine ended up being sent and others cancelled. Ordered about 10 games across a variety of games (no BOTW though).

  • Got lucky, I got this 1730hrs today:

A shipment for your order has just left!

    1 X Super Smash Bros.
    1 X Splatoon

  • Sigh. Bloody EB Games. My Breath of the Wild order was cancelled. That was going to by my Xmas pressie "from" the kids!

    • +2

Oh well… Socks and undies it is again this year…

      • +1

Is that a Breath of the Wild pun?

  • My order was cancelled.

  • +1

    https://www.ebgames.com.au/wii-u-206751-The-Legend-of-Zelda-…
Lot of people missing this one. Twilight Princess HD is $40+ dollars everywhere I look, but EB has the game, OST Soundtrack and Wolf Link Amiibo for only $19. Picked it up. ;)

    • Never played tp. How would you rate it compared to other Zelda games?

    • +1

Pretty sure this is a new addition to the sale. Wasn’t available for me a couple of days ago.
