Here's the full proper Search Link :)
Sorry BlazinPast, I beat you this time!

Thanks for the link Charcoal. OP updated :)

I seem to be having trouble editing the eBay search; with it returning 0 results afterwards… If anyone else is having the same issue, do the following:

      1) Start a new Advanced Search on eBay.
      2) Enter in the search terms & filters (eg sort by cheapest/show 200 per page etc)
      3) Tick Only show items from and paste this into the Specific Sellers box

Fun fact: This is how we create search links :)

    • Lots of cock rings on sale..?

  • Guys im looking to buy a samsung S8 or something similar spec, would i get a good deal with this? Sorry im no good at looking this stuff up if anyone could guide me i appreciate it.. Im looking new not refub

    Thanks
    Brendan

TGG has 20% deal as well. You can do C&C.

      • Thats comes to $800 after 20% off is that not expensive for it still?

This guy has it for $615 and i can get 5% off, it says its new??

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Factory-Unlocked-SAMSUNG-Gal…

        Thanks

        • Apparently you have found yourself a deal already.

          • @ausdday: But I dont know how legit the deal is, and if its 100% new and not a refurb.. I dunno how contact seller

            • @Brendan86: Seems too good to be true?

              • +2

@Brendan86: "Although the manufacturer warranty period has expired, we offer a 100% hassle-free 2 year seller warranty for all our units. The warranty covers any form of defect or workmanship error. Unlike most other resellers, we do not repair returned items (if any). We choose to exchange it with a brand new unit instead for your peace of mind."

It's not AUS stock. No manufacturer warranty. Period. S8 isn't that old.

ps: Since when Samsung supply their S8 with charger from WELLPOW ???

            • @Brendan86: Would you trust the seller even if you managed to contact him?

              • @ausdday: I appreciate your input mate, but its hardly a clone? I dont mind it not being aus stock as long its a genuine s8.. so you dont think take the plunge and chance it? I can use paypal and his feedback isnt too bad??

                • +1

@Brendan86: Of course you can chance it. I misunderstood that you want local stock with warranty.

Personally, I would not buy from this seller, and here are my takes:
                  1. I would not buy from seller with rating less than 98%. This guy has ~50 neutral and ~50 negative feedbacks in 1 month time.
                  2. This is definitely a grey import (no mention of local AU stock, fake warranty expired claim, 3rd party charger). Best case, it's a new grey import. Worst refurbished and resealed stock.
                  3. I don't change phone often, so I don't mind to pay a bit extra for the warranty if I can.

But hey, you own your money, it's your call :)

    • +1

Coincidence has it, I was looking for an S8 as well. I decided to try an Optus post-paid.

      For $55 a month for 24 months ($10 discount) I was able to get an S8 with 20gb data, unlimited calls & texts, data-free Netflix/Sports/National Geographic/Spotify.

If you really want to stay clear of plans, then you'll need to pony up the $800ish for an authentic one.

  • Thanks OP.

  • I'm getting tired of these sales. Just saying…

    • +3

There is nothing stopping you from posting your 1st deal on here. Just saying.

      • Oh boy here we go, someone misunderstood a comment and got defensive.
To reiterate, I'm tired of Ebay and its cruddy jackster sellers, not the poster of the deal.

        JUST SAYING.

        • -1

It seems that you were the one who misunderstood. I never said anything about the Op. My point was that if you are tired of these sales then there is nothing stopping you from posting deals that are of more interest to you.

Looking forward to your 1st deal post.

  • Still waiting for a Ubiquiti AC Lite to go back to $106. These "discounts" suck.

  • IT's so exhausting looking through these deals.

  • Ausluck - Apple iPhone XS MAX 256GB (Space Grey)
    RRP $2,049
    Description Price: $2,048
    Selling Price: $2,349
    Discounted Price: $1,879.20

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/APPLE-iPHONE-XS-MAX-256GB-SPACE-…

These sellers are jacking up prices…

    • Yes Ausluck had the 15.4 inch for about 3100 last week. Now it's 3650. A case of blatant price jacking.

Best option is to find someone who can get the David Jones vouchers at 10 per cent off then wait till Myer or JB hi-fi have their apple sales days and price match using the vouchers for a further 10 percent off.

  • I was about to buy an item with 10+availability at 9.59 am.
Ready to pull the trigger at 10.00 am but went OOS (Mavic Zoom, $1600).

I am sure they removed the item (shopping clearance express).

Is that something I could report to ebay?

    • +1

Same thing happened to me with the Mavic 2 Pro!!!!!! :(

      • are they allowed to do so??

        • Contacting eBay now to find out.

          • @Stolniik: I will do the same. Im so upset..

            • @ets27: So I am chatting with them now. They are saying it is perfectly within the sellers rights.

"although the seller is part of the promotion, it is still within their discretion as to how many quantity of the item they would like to put on promotion. Since it is the sellers items, it is within their discretion of the number of items they want to sell or advertise."

"When it comes to the availability of the item, it would be up to the sellers discretion to pull out his stocks since it could be that there is something wrong with the remaining batches of stocks that he has."

I asked them to file a report against his account - they will monitor and assess if they will need to suspend or limit his account.

              • @Stolniik: I am doing the same, I bet i will receive the same answer

              • @Stolniik: "No worries, I'll take note of this and submit a report on this to warn this seller if there was really something done that is not within the policy."

                • @ets27: eBay does nothing but protect the seller. I'm so sick of it.

                • @ets27: "we are not taking sides here but rather I am only explaining to you as to what are the limits of what we can control."

Is it not their Marketplace in which they can set restrictions on the price and quantity at a point in time?

                  • @Stolniik:

Is it not their Marketplace in which they can set restrictions on the price and quantity at a point in time?

I think they're referring to this:

"When it comes to the availability of the item, it would be up to the sellers discretion to pull out his stocks since it could be that there is something wrong with the remaining batches of stocks that he has."

i.e. they cannot force sellers to sell x amount of stock, because they have no control over the seller's stock. The seller can claim their stock has been damaged, or maybe sold elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure there's no law that states what items you must sell during a sale. It's very, very common for store-wide sales in physical stores to exclude certain products or entire brands. It has probably been like that for decades.

  • Can't believe I fell for this trap again…
Found what wanted, reasonably priced - ready to make a purchase at 10am only for the store to pull all quantity of the stock.

Shopping Express Outlet - culprits and you can see in the revision history that 1 minute before the sale there was a change to the quantity.

    Why do I even bother…

  • Weird, $120 spend and code gives me $20 off not 20% :/

    • trying to buy doz wines, max 10 items in single transaction :/

  • Looking for a 2018 MackBook Pro 13" with Touchbar and 512GB. Sydneytec has them at $3298 with 20% but wanting to spend around $2300….

If anyone comes across a deal please let me know.

    Thanks all.

      Not a single bourbon …

      • First Choice Liquor have magically re listed several different brands of bourbon. So get in quick before they decide to go on a error in listing spree again. :)

    • Looks like First Choice Liquor has marked most of their items as Out of Stock.

How many items do they normally have? It looks like they have 508 items at the moment? All the ones I randomly clicked on are in stock.

      • +1

If you checked thr recent deal post from First Choice Liquor, they have all been marked as Out of Stock.

        • -3

Right, so it's not actually "most of their items" then.

          • +3

@eug: There was 1000s of items delisted.

            • -2

@bongo007: Oh, so they normally have thousands of items? OK, that would be "most" then.

To be fair though, the deal page specifically says "20% off Selected Liquor".

              • +2

@eug: As in "Selected Sellers" liquor.

Not fair to list everything, then remove it all at once. Don't think everything went OOS at once.

                • -1

                  @bongo007:

                  As in "Selected Sellers" liquor.

If you click on the liquor deal page I linked to, it says "Selected Liquor" not "Selected Sellers Liqour".

Not fair to list everything, then remove it all at once. Don't think everything went OOS at once.

It's disappointing for sure, but I think they're well within their rights to decide what they want to put on sale. It's no different to walking in-store and seeing only certain bottles on sale while others are still full price.

                  • +3

                    @eug:

If you click on the liquor deal page I linked to, it says "Selected Liquor" not "Selected Sellers Liqour".

That's just advertising graphic. Nothing about "Selected Liquor" in the T&Cs - only "Selected Sellers".

It's no different to walking in-store and seeing only certain bottles on sale while others are still full price.

I think you are missed the point - ALL liquor was available for purchase, then they removed it AFTER the offer commenced.

It is like walking into a store, you see it on special, put it into your trolley, get to the counter and it scans full price - or worse, attendant tells you that you are not allowed to buy it anymore.

                    • -3

                      @bongo007:

That's just advertising graphic. Nothing about "Selected Liquor" in the T&Cs(pages2.ebay.com.au) - only "Selected Sellers".

OK, we'll ignore the banner and just look at "Selected Sellers". The T&C says the code will give you 20% off items at Selected Sellers.

First Choice Liquor is one of their selected sellers. Since the sale was advertised, everything in their store is 20% off. So their T&Cs are correct.

The T&Cs do not say all sellers will be selling exactly the same stock as yesterday. And as with any sale, I'm pretty sure sellers are not obligated to sell absolutely everything in stock at the sale price - just like any physical store where you frequently see "xyz not included". It's not really a new thing. A store can decide what items get discounted, or not offer any discounts at all.

It is like walking into a store, you see it on special,

That's the thing - nobody ever saw any of those items on special. As far as I know, eBay never actually advertised this sale till the banner ad came up on their front page today. The moment 'normal' users see the banner ad, they would then click through and see what's on sale, which would be the reduced catalog.

I get that it's disappointing, but I don't think they're technically doing anything wrong. It feels wrong, but I think that's just because we got an unofficial preview of the sale, and formed an expectation in our heads that everything would be on sale while selectively disregarding the "Selected Liquor" banner.

                      • +1

@eug: Again, you have totally missed the point.

That's the thing - nobody ever saw any of those items on special.

What are you talking about? Of course the items WERE on special. Have you not seen the numerous deals posted? 1, 2, 3

People purchased these items. I had some in my cart until they magically removed them all.

Items now say "This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing."

Someone F'd up, people got lucky.

                        • -3

                          @bongo007:

What are you talking about? Of course the items WERE on special. Have you not seen the numerous deals posted? 1, 2, 3

Oh sorry my mistake, I thought those were from another day. OK, so going back to your original statement then:

It is like walking into a store, you see it on special, put it into your trolley, get to the counter and it scans full price - or worse, attendant tells you that you are not allowed to buy it anymore.

Seeing that eBay is a virtual store, I guess a physical store where you can physically grab the item would not be a good comparison. It's probably more accurate to compare it to another virtual store, like maybe an airline.

Let's say Jetstar advertises tickets to Japan for $200 return. You add it to your cart, but if other people complete checkout before you do, too late you've missed out. The airline might have decided to only sell 10 tickets at the really cheap price and charge more for the other seats even though they're all exactly the same seats in the same plane. They're perfectly within their rights to do so.

Looking at the 3 ebay listings you posted, the listings ended at around 1.20pm. That means they were available for sale at the discounted price for nearly three and a half hours. As with all sales, if you miss out… you miss out. The T&Cs don't state that all items will be available in unlimited quantities for the entire duration of the sale.

Once again, I get that it's disappointing, but it really doesn't look like they technically did anything wrong.

                          • +1

                            @eug:

Except that's not what happened. The airline was selling tickets all around the world and instead of just removing tickets to Japan because they "sold out", they removed ALL international flights. Leaving only shitty domestic flights.

They just sold out their quota of cheap tickets. You had three hours to buy them all.

Ausluck have price jacked their iPhone xs max and MacBook Pro to around 10 per cent above RRP so not a great deal. The sooner ebaybpit a stop to this the better. Imagine if David Jones and Myer said that everything was 50 per cent off tomorrow and then overnight doubled the price on everything. I think there is a law against this isn't there? Otherwise eBay Australia will need to start being fined for misleading advertising as the price discount is not off the most recent prices.

  • any real deals on the apple watch and airpods?

    • +1

Not unless you can find a pricing error. I am sure the retailers are running their hands with the extra profit they make on these days.

  • Tried to apply the code and paid with voucher or gift card and discount is gone. Can someone verify?

Would anyone in ozbargain support to stop promoting 20% of eBay IF there are is no real eveidende of any bargain anymore ? Isn’t it the idea of ozbargain in a first place to support any real bargain ? Promoting this deal in ozbargain May actually cause losses to ozbargain members .

    • +5
    • +4

At time of your neg, there are 29 separate posts/deals using this code. No bargains?

      • -3

Yup , you are right!! and Thoseindividual bargains posted would be much Better Options than the Blanket posting of 20% of 29 Real Bargain deals out of Maybe >100s of jacked up prices deals?

        • I don't understand. How can you have one without the other? Makes no sense sorry.

          • @tightarse: Individual posting

            • +3

@tanastra: Tightarse did a post notifying members of the sale on eBay and then other members searched and found individual good deals from that sale.

These things go hand in hand.

Some price jacking (and shame on those who do) doesn't ruin the entire sale. There are still a lot of great bargains.

      Im with you brother.

Im not going to go into my details for you!!!!!

You, you, you… this site isn't just for you though. Other people have found bargains. Just because you couldn't find anything for yourself doesn't mean it's a bad deal. There are many other people who use this site apart from you. Not all deals have to be catered to you and what you want to buy.

There certainly looks to be bad sellers out there, but I don't just focus on the negatives and post about it angrily. I try to look for the positives instead. Let the community post the deals, then upvote if they appeal to you, or downvote if there are better deals elsewhere. If there were no deals at all, then that could probably warrant a neg on this post. But that doesn't look like the case here.

and what you want to buy."

What are you rambling on about "eug". Did you not understand anything and you take it out of context by replying to my reply which was made to a Mr/Mrs "cwongtech" who was being a hero by stating that I had not made any contribution towards any posts on finding deals like him/her who has posted so many (wow, my hero) on this site. Great, Im not competing with who has had the most or am I playing down anyone who posts them. Let me say that Im grateful and respect the work and time these people on here go out and do for the benefit of all of us and I stress this point again, Yes im grateful and appreciative for all who have the time and the effort that they put. But my reply to mr "cwongtech" was that they hadn't need be critical like this by trying to state that I am only here to leach of everyone that posts deals.
"cwongtech" couldn't be any further from the truth and that offended me.
I wish I had the time like some others here like some people, but unfortunately owning your own businesses for owner 34 years and working in a 7 day a week environment doesn't quite allow me much extra time for quite a few things that I could possibly do.
Enough of my person life and apologies to all.
In general, If only some people read things carefully, there would be less arguments and misunderstanding around here, as this happens quite often on this site.
Also how some people just jump into the wrong conclusion for reasons stated above or just plain ignorance.
Im not only discussing my case here, but things like eg. asking questions that was already explained but the writer was to lazy or ignorant to read etc etc

@ug, back to you. I didn't mention anything about finding a no deal or a deal posted on the ebay 20% subject and to have you try to lecture me that this site isn't catered only for me kiddo (and if you tell me your not a kid, than act your age before you jump to some conclusion!) . Read it again, but read who I was replying to!
I mealy replied to the poster above me, "tanastra", who in MY opinion was correct to suggest that these so called "20% off" deals are not exactly what they really claim to be.
And yes, I and many many on here have repeatedly have said this about how MOST (and I have and proved this to one of the ebay sellers by photo shots of the night before and after prices of a whole page of electronics on his ebay site which all were exactly 10% inflated) of these "deals" were inflated!!!
The point that me and "tanastra" (correct me if Im wrong tanastra) were making was that the sale was misleading us into thinking that we as buyers are getting a Genuine 20% discount is in fact inflated by just about all these sellers.
Is it still a deal you ask? But is it all a genuine 20% as advertised? NO, its not!!.
Yes I hear you, its still a 'deal"….. BUT if you can tell me that this isn't a misleading deal/sale, than my hunch leads me into believe that some of you guys have some connections with an ebay seller or and actual ebay seller. That is my opinion and I believe I wouldn't be alone on this subject.
For the genuine sellers that do the write thing, I know you guys are much more frustrated then us buyers and I feel for you. But I have and will always support and buy from you guys (that are genuine and honest) even if your prices are a bit more. To those that are cynical or don't believe my statement, fair enough, but rest ashore that those People who pride themselves with honesty and integrity in their businesses will know and understand exactly what I'm saying.
There is a whole lot more that can be said and Im pretty sure I have missed something, but I will leave it at that for now unless need be.
              Thank you.
