    • Yeah very expensive. I paid $400 for Potenzas! Ecopia is their budget model. If they don't have stock, why don't you try a different size. Go for a wider tyre width, there's plenty of options if it's within a certain measurement range. Better shop around to see sizes and brands, then get Bridgestone too match it as they have the best service but usually not the best upfront price.

      • What size can I try and is it legal? Sorry not very good with car.

Will 205/50R16 be ok? Where did you get Potenzas for $400 from? I guess size will be different for yours.

        • Just read my reply below… Forgot to press the reply button :)

    • Hi mate, this is an unusual size hence not a lot of tyres available in this size. Usually 16 inch rims have 205 or wider tyres.

Pirelli P1 and Hankook are priced pretty well for this size. You should be able to get them for around $125-$130 each. Total should be around $500.

      Hour this helps.

      • Thank you so much for your suggestion. Will 215/45R/16 work on my wheels as Monstalova mentioned below?

        • You really don't want to check yourself do you… Just looked it up and yes thats the next size up and the closest it gets to equal for different measurements. So either look for 215/45 or 195/50 tyres.

          • @Whisper Quiet: Called Bob Jane and they dont recommend 215, it is too wide. They said I can consider 205 but price will be similar to 195 so there is no point. I called a few places and could not find Pirelli P1 with my size and at $125-$130 range at all. Can only find Yokohama ES32 at $145 each the cheapest, are they any good?

            • @maogua: You can't do 205 it's out of whack for the tyre measurements. 215/45 is .01 off exact which is as close as you'll get. Don't know why they said that. Maybe they don't have it in stock or some other reason. Yokohama is fine but depending on your tyre life at the moment. Maybe hold off until a better deal comes on

  • I got Potenzas from Bridgestone store. They already had a deal going for $450. Bob Jane had it for $405. Got them to match it as I wanted to go through Bridgestone as they offer so much more with the package. 215/45R/16 I think is your other option for thicker width. Just google tyre calculator and it should show you what measurements you can change. Yes it's legal if it's within a certain percentage, the only thing it may throw off your speedometer by a km or so.
More width = better grip / braking
Less width = better longevity / less noisy

  • Still waiting for amex bob Jane offer. The wife's car needs 215 45 17. Got quoted 189 ea from bob jane. Costco is 179 ea. 183.35 from bridgestone select. That's for re003. Doubt the missus needs those tyres though. Currently have continental mc5.

  • what about 235/45/17 for a passat Wagon 94W. I have an option of the 050A for 630 or the serenity for 552, which tyre is better and is that a good price? 65 for Alignment.

  • Hi guys - I have a Mini Clubman with the front wheels need replacing… they're on runflats atm and am looking to replace 4 to Michelin PS4 or Potenzas… which ones would you recommend? I'm more after comfort and quietness. Jax tyres PS4 $170/type after $100 cash back vs Potenza RE003 $138/tyre for 225/45/r14

    Thx
