Can I Claim Cash Back from Samsung if Purchase Made from The Good Guys eBay Store (20% off eBay Store)?

Hi Guys

I need some help and hopefully someone can share some light. Currently Ebay is having 20% of Good Guys store. In addition, I realised that Samsung is also running cash back promotion. I want to purchase from Good Guys ebay store of course to save that further 20%. However, have anyone successfully made a cash back claim from Samsung before buying from Good Guy ebay store?

Many thanks in advance!!!

    Just opened the T&Cs for one of the cash back promos and it says:

    1. Eligible Claimants who:
      2.1 Purchase a Participating Product from a Participating Retail Store during
      the Promotional Period;
      2.2 submit an Eligible Claim during the Redemption Period; and
      2.3 otherwise comply with these T&Cs,

    Participating Retail Store = Any Australian retailer authorised by the Promoter to participate in this Promotion,
    excluding: i) any online bidding and auction websites (including www.ebay.com.au);
    and ii) any unauthorised retailers.

    you will get a full receipt from Goodguys.

  • My Tax Invoice/Electronic Receipt from a purchase with the Good Guys does not reference ebay, only a Website Order Number (a string of numbers) and the Salesperson as "Web S". Pretty sure I received a paper Tax Invoice too, so I reckon you can claim the Samsung cashback.

    Question is, do you want a Samsung fridge? Trying to decide myself, but I read bad reviews.

    • I tried to go through a few different brands and most of them are not lasting more than a year or 2 before starts having issues… I guess these days all companies made things that would only last a max 3 years so that we will need to purchase again….just looking at how many models they release every year….I wish I am lucky enough to get a better one….

      • If your fridge stops working after a year or 2 get a refund/exchange.

        Our Panasonic fridge is more than 10 years old now.

  • Thanks for the answers but what if I have the item delivered rather than picking up from a physical store. I usually picked them up when I buy small items via ebay store but I want to by a fridge and I want it to be delivered. Would that affect the good guys tax invoice? Cos there may not be a physical store address? Just don't want to loose $300 cash back .

    Taniiah pointed out that the T&C from Samsung
    Participating Retail Store = Any Australian retailer authorised by the Promoter to participate in this Promotion,
    excluding: i) any online bidding and auction websites (including www.ebay.com.au);
    and ii) any unauthorised retailers.

    Would that means I cannot claim even through Good guys ebay items are same price as their website and is not auction?

    Cheers

      Just don't want to loose $300 cash back .

      *lose

      You can always put in a claim, but you would be doing that knowing they can validly knock it back.

      There isn't really an argument here:

      excluding: i) any online bidding and auction websites (including www.ebay.com.au);

      Is pretty black and white.

  • i thought that promotion from samsung ended already …

    new one might be https://www.samsung.com/au/offer/bonus-xbox-one-x/

    • New one. last one was for black stainless steel and this round is for selected French door

  • You can only try, terms and conditions are excluding it though.

  • Exactly which promotion are you referring to? Perhaps check the T&Cs of that specific promotion.

    It seems like the T&Cs vary depending on the promotion. For eg, the T&Cs for the Xbox one mentioned by maxchange above doesn't specifically exclude eBay. They have a list of participating stores instead. That differs to the T&Cs that tanniah has linked earlier.

    Without the specific eBay exclusion, it's arguable whether the Good Guy's eBay store is excluded or not since you will receive a tax invoice from Good Guys. Technically, whatever you're getting is being supplied by Good Guys and not eBay.

    Bobbified - It is for a fridge and is exactly the same T&C as the first post.
