Has Nutella switched to a sustainably sourced palm oil yet?

      They did 5 years ago.

Try the Kirkland brand one. I much prefer the taste and mouth feel over Nutella, and no palm oil to be seen. It's only $12 or something, for a 2x 1kg snack pack :p

  • Let all the sugar comments begin!

  • I strongly recommend you try Nuttvia, only available at Coles:
    https://nuttvia.com/products/

"A delicious jar of Nuttvia fit for the whole family!

100% Palm Oil free and 97% less sugar, you can enjoy your Nuttvia guilt-free!"

I found the taste really good!

Less sugar but still very caloric, ok? :)

    • Sounds like prescription only from the chemist.

Less sugar but still very caloric,

      Contains erythritol and stevia instead…

      no thanks.

I actually prefer Nutino over Nutella due to the stronger Hazelnut taste but their source of palm oil (if you care) is questionable.

I'll try this Nuttvia and see how it compares. It better not be a disgusting jar of brown butter like Kraft's attempt.

        or else?

          Or worse. Expelled.

nuttvia, 10% hazelnuts and 80% sweetners that are probably worse for your than palm oil

    • Contains erythritol

      causes nausea, diarrhea and urticaria.

      • They could use that to their advantage - 'Nuttvia: the hazelnut spread that's also a laxative!'

      • I don't know if erythritol is good or bad. But the sponsor of the research is Cerestar R&D Center, Vilvoorde, Belgium.

This centre was opened by Cerestar, which was a subsidiary to a company called Eridania Beghin-Say SA. And not surprisingly, this company's activities include production and marketing of sugar derived from sugar beet and cane; and …..

I'd see the research as a tool to beat sugar substitute only.

      • That might cause diarrhea if you eat a pot at once as Nutella might…
I couldn't find information about the amount of erythritol…

That might cause diarrhea if you eat a pot at once as Nutella might…

Can comfirm this… Just ate an entire tub of Nutella, explosive diarrhea from both ends!
Looked at the mess around me, couldn't tell what was the nutella and what was the ahh ..

Still waiting for them to make an alternate label that removes the bread and knife and just shows a spoon. Because we all know the real way to eat nutella.

    • +1

Or replace them with a picture of a bathtub.

  • I love this, but I can't buy it.
I will literally eat the jar in one night.

    I've been dieting for the last 15 years and I have got a really good control on my intake now;
But if this is in the house, Im powerless.

  • unit price approx 67c/100gm

  • Nutella is the reason I was overweight most of my childhood…. no good…
