Smart Phones - Eye straining problems.

Hi everyone

I'm using S7 edge from almost 19 months… I feel, looking at my mobile for long time, my eyes are strained and they turned into red (with a little amount of water). I had same problem before with some Chinese brand mobile. I assumed it wouldn't continue with high end mobiles like Samsung. Still I'm facing same problem (compared to last mobiles, its less). I didn't face this problem with my wife's Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

I tried different blue light filter softwares and didn't find much difference.

Since I'm in a plan to upgrade, I just need your input/suggestions on considering special features (particularly on screen type). Does apple's retina screen is better compared to android AMOLED screens?

Thanks in advance

  • It's because S7 Edge has low frequency screen flickering, it's got nothing to do with blue light. AMOLED and cheap LCD does this to simulate low brightness.

Then why don't you buy this?

    • I liked my S7 edge because of its camera… As we know, Xiaomi mobiles are not very good when it comes to camera…

  • Do you use it in glarey environment? As the curved edges can make bit shiny on sides

  • Use your smart phone less in poorly lit environments

Remember to blink while looking at your phone or any screen for that matter, its easy to forget to blink also never use your phone in a poorly lit room

    Everything in moderation.

Take a break away every now and then. Staring at light emitting source for long periods without giving your eyes a break can't be good for your eyes.

  • Just blink more often.
