Hisense Vs Other TV Brands

I'm in the market for a new TV. I want one maximum size 43inch. The only use for the tv will be for ps4 gameplay. I was wondering if I should go with a cheaper Hisense or with another brand such as sony or samsung. Does anyone have any opinions or reviews they'll like to share?

I've always been a fan of Hisense - I did a lot of research before I purchased and they were the best and most economical.

Every person you speak to will have a different opinion - especially salesman. I suggest go to the store and see what quality you like and then decide. Goodluck.

  • I agree with bargainhunter87, I've been doing a fair bit of research and Hisense comes across as the best bang for buck if you are looking for quality price balance. I'd go for the P7 as it has a good refresh rate, colour quality and gaming mode. Hisense also have a long warranty.

I actually heard the salesman today at JBHiFi recommending the Hisense as a good quality cheaper tv to another customer. Not that I believe much in what they say, but they usually try to up sell, unless they have bigger margins on Hisense.

I'll be picking mine up mid week, so I can't report back on personal use yet though. From what I've seen in store they look excellent for the price.

I forgot that Hisense don't do the P7 at the size you are after, so I'm not 100% sure on how the refresh rate is in the lower end Hisense t'vs. I think that they are not as good as the P7 so you should look into that.

I have three of them so far, and they've all worked really well, I never have any issues with screen clipping which I usually do with other tvs (like using my laptop and missing out the bottom of the screen, or youtube on the ps4 missing a small part on top and bottom of screen).

They seem to work really well for me and are cheap, has CEC functionality and gives you some good features for what you pay for (including netflix, youtube and plex apps which work well for me).

The only thing I don't like is I'd prefer a nicer remote, I'm also not a huge fan of such massive youtube and netflix buttons on there as when I lie on the couch my fat will accidentally press it and it takes a billion years to exit out.

    • haha had to laugh about the fat hitting the buttons.

  • My 43 Hisense is working well over the two dead Samsungs I chucked out. The only thing I notice is the viewing angle is not quite as good as the sammy's. That said, no regrets, and the bank balance is appreciative!.

  • A few years ago, I heard / read of HiSense TV's dying shortly after 12 mon warr'y died… YMMV

Hisense and TCL have been the standouts for me in the budget but still quality category.

There are some Samsung and Sony budget buys but a lot of people recommend Hisense and TCL at lower price points.

The special go the extra mile in me wants to somehow get a US exclusive TV as they seem to always get the cream of the crop when it comes to the pick of budget but quality bang for buck TV's.

Australia gets shafted with the slim pickings a lot in this way.
