Why? Can you find a similar one any cheaper?

    • +3

"these" posts? What do you mean "these" posts?

  • +11

    FDA Approved

    The FDA approves homeopathy products.

People think FDA approval is some endorsement of quality. The reality is the FDA is a body that listens to companies claim they carried out reasonable tests that found the products they make are safe. The FDA does not investigate these claims, it's job is too file the paperwork claiming the product is safe.

    • +2

Not to mention not many ppl in Oz know what the heck FDA is….

      • +1

Nor care. Wonder if it's TGA approved lol

I bought a Renpho scale off amazon about 3 months ago and have been very happy with it. Very good for the price

Just what I was after, cheers. More motivation to continue on my weight loss journey.

    • +17

I get what you mean. I tried out multiple scales in the shops and only bought the one that showed me the lowest weight.

    • +1

Good luck with it :) Starting mine next week (although, it's more about being fit, with weight loss a side effect)

    • +7

Don't forget to make sure your gut isn't hanging on the towel rack

  • +7

I'll fat shame you for free

    • +1

Not our shame to give, its theirs to have

    • Jiggling for justice

    • I prefer to get youtube weirdos to fat-shame me

NOTE Nobody should do anything this lunatic says, I just remembered the first few seconds of it when I read your comment.

    • Looks like the one you linked is a newer model. Doesn't seem to have any significant differences.

    • +2

This one is Using BIA and ITO Conductive Surface Technology, you cannot see the 4 electrode sheets on the surface.

      • So which one is better?

        • +4

The weighing results for the customer are the same, just this technology is more expensive and makes products more beautiful.

  • +1

    limit 1 per customer?

    • +2

You'll have to do one foot at a time.

  • Ordered one :)

  • Any idea if the body fat percentage that this scale (or similar scales) crank out accruate?

    • +3

      Short answer no.

      Long answer no.

    • +3

None are very accurate to be honest. Any that claim accuracy are lying. They measure the flow of electrical current through the body and try to determine fat content from that. I have yet to see any genuine studies done to suggest this is accurate.

      • +1

maybe the electro shock therapy helps to decrease BMI gradually so you think it actually works, because if you're happy about losing weight you'd naturally be happy with your purchase

    • +2

It won't be accurate but it should at least give the same error each time so you can track if you have gained or lost fat.
I have had 2 DEXA scans and compared to a BIA scale both times the BIA scale was 8% higher. May depend on the scale though and I have no experience with this model.

      • Cool thanks - after doing some research I decided to stay with my normal scales :)

  • Bought one thanks

  • Ordered!

  • +2

    Just missed it. :(

  • +4

Can you extend the code please OP?

  • +1

I am fat. I dont need a scale to me so! I'll save $22.99

  • +2

I kept wondering if I should get this one, but it is expired now so I guess it is an automatic "no" then.
$22.99 will probably be better put into HJ coupons!

I’m after a reliable weighing scale. The one I got from Target is starting to play up. Would this be good for the price? Not interested in any fat measuring functionality.

  • +1

Really sad to miss this. :( I've been holding out on a deal on a smart scales for the last 6 months!

    • +1

i bought the kmart $29 scales, does bmi, bone density, bluetooth, etc ….app works fine on my android 7 phone …..doesn’t do internal visceral fat …..seems the xiaomi does but it’s $55 …..visceral fat is the one around the gut that is the issue for risk of diabetes and cancer , more so than bmi.

next scales will be the xiaomi for the visceral fat measurement feature.

The one day I don't check ozbargain often and this deal comes up and expires within a few hours. What the hell!!? :(

  • I wonder how accurate this will be!

    • Not very. Except for weight - that could be quite accurate - the rest is voodoo science to sell to rubes.

  • Is anyone unable to connect to the app properly?
