  • No Stock

    • Did you Broden it?

    • +2

Plenty of stock in the dam. Just turn on the tap.

      • +3

Which dams are used for sparkling water?

        • Tap water. A lot is just filtered.

    • Yup, no stock anywhere. From the linked page:

There are no stores in stock of this item within 2000kms

Nice, 200 of these bad boys and I'm set for free delivery 😎

    • +1

      That's about 250kg.

You could get back $20 for the bottles.

    • Free delivery - how?

Their delivery policy (https://www.bigw.com.au/delivery) would classify this as Other?

Serious question, I want free delivery on this!

      • +1

My bad haha, I thought this was a Woolies deal for some reason.

  • +6

also need sale on sharpies so i can write VOSS on it

  • +5

I was going to post that I prefer the Coles brand and then I realised no one would care.

    • There is a difference in taste between brands of water that have been carbonated?
I buy both brands I can't find any difference whatsoever.

      • “Soda water” should be pretty close to pure water and therefore generally all taste the same.

Sparkling Mineral Water will vary as per the minerals.

      • +1

There's definitely a difference. The Coles brand has a stronger taste than the Woolies.

        • Also I think the carbonation lasts longer in the Coles one. Could be wrong.

  • Which bottles are not perfect for keeping in the fridge? My nomination is Galliano Sambuca.

    • +1

My vote is for the VOSS water bottles; they seem to be too top-heavy / narrow for the fridge door, and too tall for a shelf.

      • +2

but a true VOSS lover won't care about those things because it's all about the status associated with drinking fine artisanal norwegian tap water

        • +2

Refilled, from my own tap, many times

          • @GG57: and everyone is none the wiser

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Hot tip. Everyone knows it's being refilled.

              • @droninglocust: but if you vehemently deny this and constantly upsell the benefits of fine quality h20 you can have them question their sanity.

              • @droninglocust: What if you have a sodastream and just give it a quick gas before giving it to visitors?

              • @droninglocust: It's that sticker that makes all the difference.

Solution is to get a thousand of those stickers printed to let people know you're not a dirty tap water drinking peasant.

        • +1

          Artisanal

          It sounds like arse water…

  • +2

excellent. will drink these with one of my 200 disposable straws. and then into the ocean.

    • Might as well save the 50c and drink the ocean

  • Nice. Used to buy these but they went up ridiculously with the stupid NSW return and earn scheme. 50c is fair.

  • +5

50c .. "or 4 payments of AUD $0.12 with Afterpay"

That's 48c. So you can save EVEN MORE!!!!

    • +6

Pay in store and split payment $0.48 eGift (purchased with 5% off and also $0.02 disappears due to rounding) ie. effectively $0.46.

This is why I'm on OzBargain

pure and natural water is refreshingly bubbly

Who is this written for? People with the IQ of a tin of paint?

  • +1

…so do ozbargainers decant these into their VOSS bottles??
how does this buying bottled water thing work???

    • Wifey likes fizz

      • +2

Read it as "wifey likes…" Nevermind.

    • +1

Nah, too cheap to do that. Carbonate my own with 2.6 kg CO2 tank into Voss bottles.

  • +4

Sucks the max is 10. I would order 100 - I live off these things but cringe at the new and improved .90c price tag.

    • Coles is still $0.75 near me.

      • +4

Are you in NSW? They raised the price when they deposit scheme came in. The deposit scheme with basically nowhere you can get a refund. It's such a scam.

If they had a refund place near my house my recycling bin would never be full and I'd be bloody rich. I live in a sharehouse on a road full of rich pissheads. I reckon raiding the bins here would net me a fortune. Alas, the program is designed to keep the deposit. Can't wait for the next election.

        • This is in WA so I guess we don't have the deposit scheme.
I just checked again on Woolies website & the price dropped to $.75 when I logged in.

    • I call it Return & Lose.

    • Buy a soda king. Save on plastic.

  • +1

Queensland starts our annoying scheme on 1 November. We all have to pay because some people don't do the right thing, either in money or in time getting the 10 cents back.

It's not just the recycling scheme. Who else is sick of paying for other people's detritus?

    • +3

I hope there are actual places to put the bottles. I just had a whinge above about the NSW system. It dead set sucks. Nearest place to me is a car journey away and so not worth it. if I could just cart a wheelie bin down the road I would do it - but it's friggin miles away. I'm also in the inner city so it's absurd that there are no depots here.

      • Most of the Queensland collection points require you to;
"Drop-offs are a convenient way to recycle your containers and receive a refund. There are three key steps to remember:

Bag it: bag your containers using a multi-use plastic bag (single-use plastic bags are not suitable)
Tag it: tag your containers using labels from your local container refund point, displaying your scheme ID and transaction ID
Drop it: drop off your containers at your local container refund point"

        https://www.containersforchange.com.au/where-can-i-return

        • +1

I would totally use that bag drop off system. Sounds easy and clean.

    • +3

I've always been fascinated how in Europe (from top of my head I recall Germany and Netherlands being the two countries, although more might have it) they have these recycling schemes in place, but you deposit it back at machines at their coles/woolworths.

So these machines work on the basis that you put the bottle in and it recognises the size and type of bottle and if eligible it takes it and gives you a coupon for the store (i.e. coles or woolworths voucher). You can redeem that voucher directly for $$ or use it to lower the cost when buying groceries.

Even me as a tourist, I loved the idea and thought it was very smart, because even I started recycling my water bottles and would get the vouchers to buy other stuff inside.

I've always wondered why it hasn't been implemented here. Sure, there will bugs that need to be ironed out along with other issues, but overall it is a great system which encourages more people to recycle (definitely better than the current system). Personally, I've always said if I was someone who was in charge and had the power to present this and start the motion to put it in place, I definitely would. Unfortunately, I'm just a normal citizen (who mind you is nearly finished with uni, so who knows what the future holds ;) )

apologies for grammar and spelling, I'm sure everyone gets the gist of what I'm saying and too tired to double check it all.

      • +1

Yeah and you put the beer crate in and it just gives you the whole case refunded. So good.

They do it much better than NSW. That's for sure.

      • Yep, agree with you there. Great system they have. I think along the same lines as you that I wonder why we don't implement some of these proven overseas systems here. It seems we are always trying to do it our way or not at all.

        • +1

Agreed, even Myki for example. So i currently live in HK and have traveled the world, including london, and in my opinon their systems are pretty flawless, even getting the cards and getting it refunded as tourists etc. In london you can even use your own debit/credit card as like your myki.

I don't understand why we try to do our own thing. If it works overseas, implement the same system here.

  • Nice price if you can find some.

  • This is 50 cents in my local woolworths store too.

  • Is Woolworths colluding with Big W or is Big W colluding with Woolworths?

  • is this cheaper than soda stream? Because soda stream says for $20 gas refill it makes up to 60L but, that's if you drink it really weak.
