So we recommend using your work address or somewhere that will be attended during business hours to ensure delivery is accounted for (especially for higher value items like this).

The wait is over…though at a higher price compared to last year (which most places don't ship to Australia anymore).

Still a Great USB-C PD Power Bank, highly recommend!

  • +4

Wow, doubled the price I paid for last year. Glad I got it in before all this overseas not sending them direct to Aus…

  • +1

I wish there would be more light weight 10,000 mAH with USB-C PD lightweight (i.e 18w e.g) but more USB-C PD power bank is good none the less.

Currently only Cygnett and Kogan has the 18w PD lightweight PD.

    • +5

Surprise surprise, there's a new ZMI QB910 announced 3 days ago that features:

      • 10000mAh
      • USB-PD 18W
      • USB-Hub function
      • Half price comparing to QB820
      • Nice, I bought Kogan for $29 which starts shipping this week. I will buy the new ZMI one for comparison.

        • Wow, nice price. I missed that one. Was it posted here on OzBargain?

          • +3

@ozhunter68: Not to my knowledge, it's only 10,000 mAh and 18w PD like the QB910 but lacks USB hub. It's still available.

            https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-10000-mah-18w-pd-power-ba…

Specs looks decent for $29. No way I'm going to buy it once it raises to $59 though.

            • @Bigboomboom: Thanks for info.

I came here to comment as I have used up all my Votes today ( positive votes that is ).

I snared a Cynett Pro usb C 6000 mAh from one of the Good Guys ebay deals, so that is close enough to the Kogan one, less capacity but slimmer and lighter.

  • +1

How does it compare to this? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/404170
    Physically seems twice the weight

    • +2

      Similar weight

      • if I'm correct in assuming the max output power translates to how fast it charges the device, it would seem that the cygnett is the superior one considering most other specs are quite similar ?

        • The biggest difference is the power output, Zmi QB820/815 can produce 40W easily via USB PD Type C port to charge Macbook etc. whereas the Cygnett does 30W max.

          • +1

@Mostly Melbourne: Cygnett claims a 63W Total Output though?

            • @ayad: Cygnett does 45W via USB-C, I'm incorrect.

            • +1

              @ayad: Total Output 63W = USB-C (45W) + USB-A (18W)

            • @ayad: One other feature I'd mention is the USB Hub function from ZMI, so you can plug into the Macbook which has limited USB ports to charge it and plug in other devices on the power bank.

              • @Mostly Melbourne: i guess the biggest difference now is price. I've seen the Cygnett 83-100 range and seems it happens fairly often?

            • @ayad: that's including the other usb-a ports

          • +1

@Mostly Melbourne: They both have a USB-C PD Max Output of 45W

            Source: Cygnett

            • @RichardL: edit: ohhh got it thanks

            • @RichardL: yes, but cygnett only has 30W INPUT. i.e. will only charge the bank itself at 30W

        • Both are similar, as the USB-C PD both output 45W

      • And the larger capacity QB820 20000 mAh weighs 399g which is 100g less than the QB815 15000 mAh at 499g, bit strange.

Might be the extra electronic components for the usb hub that adds the weight to the QB815 haha.

        • yeah saw that :S

          both have the hub though…

OP, is that a typo on your listing?

          • +1

@yozza: No actually it's a feature. You can charge the laptop, and plug in your mice and keyboard into the 2 extra USB ports on the Power bank and use it as a Hub. How good is that?

  • Oh wow. I didn't realise the two ZMI 10s that I have support PD.

    • +2

Was that not the main feature of these power banks?

      • Isn't that what ZMI made to do, since normal power banks made under MI brand? They are all Xiaomi.

        • Correct. Although I think these are made by a different company and like many similar Xiaomi products approved to sell/sold under the Xiaomi Brand. Could be broadening range as well as features, part of it is up-selling and marketing.

          • +1

@ozhunter68: ZMI are the manufacturer of Xiaomi power banks and are included in the Mi-ecosystem. ZMI branded products are separate to the Xiaomi line.

            • @Clear: I was not sure about the ZMI branding, lucky I said "I think" lol

Thanks for straightening that out, better to not be unclear.

      • The main reason I bought them was QC 3.0.

        • Pretty sure they don't support QC.

          • @SydStrand: The USB-A ports are QC2.0, i.e. stepping voltage 5V/9V/12V at 18W max output

          • @SydStrand: Mine sure as hell do. Across the USB-A and USB-C ports.

Edit: Double checked and these are definitely the ZMI-10/QB820 models.

  • Up-voted deal for availability, not so much the price. Although to be fair it's local stock from amazon and would receive quick.

I just missed out three times last/this year and all these deals and pulled the trigger on a Cynett Charge up Pro USB C 20000mAh and happy with that, but still tempted to get one of these now lol.

    • +2

I'm still waiting for the Cynett to go on sail… been waiting for a minute

      • +1

Haha, wait a bit longer and you will get a chance. The Good Guys often have decent deals through especially using ebay discount codes to get it for less.

        • ….yep.. wait a bit longer…

      • +4

Well I'm not sure if a powerbank knows how to pilot a boat.

        • Since many powerbank advertise something like AI power I wouldn't think it's impossible. Next we will have powerbanks that can seek out nearest power outlet to charge themselves, and powerbank that carry you to be TRUE mobile powerbank.

  • +7

Hosetly, I see Fastway as the delivery agent and I avoid them like the plague, worst service of them all, and thats saying something

  • -8
    • +2

Issue with order from oversea, is the potential of not receiving it (due to custom/regulations).

      • Order 2 of them a while ago and got it no problem with customs.

        • +2

It actually works out more expensive from AliExpress.

          Subtotal: AU $91.88
          Shipping: AU $2.95
          Tax: AU $9.50
          Total: AU $104.33

          • @RichardL: There are places cheaper, but these days not by much, like $10 after taxes. So not worth it.

Unfortunately, this overpriced battery is overpriced everywhere. Plenty of other reputable QC3 banks out there for ~30% less. Just buy another hub. That way, if one part breaks, it's not another $100

            • @plague69: QC3 doesn't quick charge laptop. PD does.

              • +1

@Bigboomboom: No, but it's still QC3.0 regardless. Think he was just stating.

                • @Tacooo: Yes, but people buying USB-C PD power bank for PD, not for QC 3.0. That's why USB-C PD power banks are usually more expensive.

              • @Bigboomboom: Yes, you are correct. But this one would, with an adapter: (5.5 * 2.1mm to USB-C)
                https://www.dhgate.com/store/product/5v-21v-portable-power-b…
30W at 21V is enough to charge a mb. You might be able to get this cheaper as well, this is just the first google link I saw.
And before anyone says Amps, devices pulls what it needs in current, charger pushes voltage. if you have the right voltage, it should be fine.
Remember MB can also charge on 12V, 9V and 5V (Although it will show "Not charging" on your screen on the lower voltages). It will not harm your device as if voltage is too low, MB will cut automatically. Ref: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/304563/usb-c-charg…

You can even interchange the battery when they go flat.

1 device, 1 purpose is best I think. Even if this case breaks, you still have the batteries. If the batteries break, you can replace and still have the case. ZMI breaks, bye $100

    • Only saving $7 for the risk of not getting it, longer waiting time and of course also grey stock.

      • No saving after you factor in GST.

        • Ah, thanks. Did not go that far in the cart and tax is still not hard wired into my brain yet lol.

    • Estimated Delivery Time: 20-41days

  • Do they support pass through charging?

    • Functionally it can, but by design it is not recommended as it may damage the power bank circuitry due to high current.

  • -2

lol wut? Does OP not know we already have awesome $30 xiaomi power banks

    • +8

These are USB-C PD power bank which generally cost a lot more since they have the ability to charge Laptop, etc.

    • ZMI and normal MI brand cater to different usage. These can charge USB-C laptops.

  • Anyone use these with google pixels? By the specs it looks like it should charge as fast as it can go but its definitely slower than the wall charger and slower than my tronsmart usb c charger

    • +3

Google Pixel/Pixel 2 will be charged at 18W with the QB820/815, equivalent to the stock wall charger and as much as any 3rd party charger will deliver.

  • +1

I personally use the zendure x6 https://www.amazon.com.au/Zendure-Portable-20000mAh-External… with 45w PD. It's $90 right now and i dont see why you would pick the zmi over the zendure x6.

    • +1

Personally I trust ZMI/Xiaomi more than Zendure.
Also the ZMI looks a lot more nicer then the Zendure x6.

    • Zendure powerbank products have been great, the only downside is the footprint (double stacked 6 * 18650 cells), quite big to carry around with

    • That's very bulky and thick.

      • Ahhh i see. Personally i dont mind the size but how about the zendure a6pd with sells for $82 https://www.amazon.com.au/Power-Delivery-Portable-Charger-Ul… brand loyalty i cant do anything about but isnt this a better option in terms of overall price and size?

        • Yes this one's much better. Personally I don't need them to be pretty but something that thick would be difficult to fit in my slim laptop bag.

  • probably the best Powerbank considering the feature and built quality from my personal experience, and considering the price thisjis really decent.

  • If I remember correctly, these used to always be in the 50-70$ range for the 15000 - 20000 respectively.

    Zomg what happened to ZMI?!

    • +2

That must be from Banggood or these overseas sellers that sells at under cost and try to promote the website periodically, they have dirty cheap shipping cost considering the international postal treaty, and now due to the battery restrictions, they are not allowed to post it anymore, therefore you have to get these from local sellers which have to suffer from higher Aussie post charges and maintain the low margin profit.

      • Lol, wouldn't call it 'dirty' cheap. I know it seems unfair, but it is what it is. I'll still buy the cheapest there is while factoring in the cost of waiting longer and uncertainty of shipping.

I'm all for local business, but saving businesses that don't make sense is … senseless. We should do what we can do better than others and creates real value for the world. We invented the hearing aid and ultrasound for crying out loud. Imagine if instead of that, they where crying because someone is selling rice cheaper than they are because overseas costs are lower…

  • Will this work with the HP Spectre x360?

    • +1

If your X360 has a USB-C charging or lightning port then it should be fine

    • +1

Works with my x360 2017 13", I'd assume it should work on the 15" model too but best to have someone else confirm that

      • Awesome thanks for that. Mine is the 2016 model, and I haven't tried using a power bank with it yet.

  • Can't be delivered to a Parcel Locker unfortunately - oh well, delivered to home then.

Rep, what's the length of the Magnetic charge cable ? Couldn't find it in the listing

    • That cable is a 2m soft braided cable, thanks for the interest!

  • +1

Can't stress enough how awesome this powerbank is since I got it when it first came out last year: it can charge both my 13" HP Spectre (2017) and my Cube Mix Plus.

Again, best part of this PB is it's ability to double as a USB hub (tap the power button twice and the led turns blue) which allows for an extra thumb drive or kb/mouse

    • Allows for an extra 2 if you use the USB-C as the main connector.

      • can you use the a usb c to normal usb cord to allow it to have the two other usb free to use as a hub ( sorry if this is a stupid question)!

  • would this charge my xps 15?

    • Well, depends on which XPS 15 you have, if it's fairly recent with a USB-C charging or lightning port then it should be fine.
But NO if it's a 2012 model XD

    • +3

Won't be enough to charge the Dell XPS 15. As far as I'm aware, the only Power Bank capable of charging the Dell XPS 15, is the official Dell Power Bank, due to proprietary technology in them.

This Power Bank will charge the XPS 13 though.

      • +1

Thanks RichardL, once again I made an incorrect assumption and upon checking the specs you are correct.

XPS 15 uses a proprietary protocol to get up to 130W via the USB-C port, and requires a minimum of 60W power in order to charge it properly, so only the monsters of power banks like QUANHAN PD20000 could do it.

        • I want a Quanhan 20000, might make me feel like a Superhero. Seriously though, I would love one.

  • The cygnett is $76. Isn't it cheaper and just as good?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Cygnett-CY2219PBCHE-10-000-m…

  • not cheap, bought 39.99 from gearbest one year ago.

    • i think i got it about 60$AUD, QB820

    • Considering Gearbest won't ship it here anymore that's no longer considered cheap.

    • I can tell you now $39.99 is under cost, if your one was genuine one, then that’s really a steal price.
