Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with people who were caught in tragic "Tohoku Region Earthquake" in Japan.

CAPCOM as a Japanese gaming company, starting from Mar. 15th through Mar. 22nd we are going to drop the price of iPhone / iPod touch "Street Fighter IV" globally and donate all the sales to public charity.

People from all over the world, please unite with us to help people in the disaster-strick area.

Two new characters have entered the ring! Sagat and one unlockable character are now available for free as playable characters in single player and head-to-head modes.
You can also download "Street Fighter II" BGM as premium DLC. Enjoy!

"Street Fighter IV is easily the best fighter on the iPhone right now. But more than that, it’s just a great edition of Street Fighter." - IGN

"It's real Street Fighter, in your pocket, and it looks, sounds and feels just plain awesome." - Gizmodo

“Capcom delivers a surefire hit that’s definitely going to tire out your thumbs.” - MacLife

    • What can you say?
      Great cause

      • dunno, I was expecting opinions on either situation in Japan or opinions on the game.

Shame only for Apple OS. Much props regardless.

  • Now if only Steam will follow suit and donate…they make billions selling games but haven't really donated much to charity.

    • That would be good, but I don't see it as likely unfortunately.

    HADOUKEN!

buy it again as a gift for someone, that way you will get to help a friend or family play, help a charity and also not sound like such a knob on Ozbargain and get those 7 negs back :)

      • 13 votes and still going strong, lol.

  • Cool game, dl for ipad n while the graphics r not as sharp in 2x mode they r still good enuf to make this very enjoyable:)

More apps need to do this, great time to get some bargains yet at the same time knowing that your money will be donated to a much needed cause. Creators of Tiny Wings & Angry Birds would also be wise to follow this theme

Why single out iPhone app developers as people that 'should be' donating? They all work for their money, just like you and I.

      • agreed with aussiedogga

  • Great deal. Have been wanting to buy this game since a long long time. My iphone is full of freebies from ozbargain and this is the 1st app I have purchased after seeing the money is going to donation and also because it is a great price for this game.

  • Would be good if there was a little bit of information about what "public charity" the money will be donated to. This will mean that consumers will be better informed as to where their funds are going to.

I'm not against giving money to the disaster relief in Japan per se, but it's difficult to make good choices without available information. Here's Givewell's take on the situation: http://blog.givewell.org/ In summary, aid offered is exceeding aid requested, many charities are seeking aid dishonestly and are likely to use the money in different countries; however Doctors Without Borders (MSF) are refusing further donations to Japan-specific funding, so would be a good charity to give to because they value transparency and integrity.

    • well it's Capcom….im pretty sure they know what they're doing

  • Ahh this is a good time to get a great game and help people in need!

  • What a deal…warm & fuzzy feeling x 2. Thanks for posting.

  • I don't know… I would probably end up breaking my fingers with this.
